@Bomber_12th Have you seen these John? Unbelievable detail! I know this is OT, but I figured warbird lovers would all enjoy this!

Wow, that looks for the most part absolutely incredible! Thank you for sharing that, Rick. It looks like they may have used the unrestored cockpit of the F-51D at the USAF Museum for reference. The only real issue I see is in the texturing of the forward canopy framing, as it looks like they're texturing it to look like the the ribbed rubber seal that is located at the back of the windscreen framing (between the windscreen framing and canopy framing when the canopy is shut). The scale/proportions of just about everything looks spot-on.

Amazing !! 😍

What i remember from IL2 some years ago is great looking cockpits but nothing clickable/working.... A tantalus torment pur sang !

Do you happen to know if that's still the case with this amazing looking P-51 cockpit ? Thanks a lot, Mach3DS ! (y)

I have Il-2 Great Battles Battle of Normandy and Battle of Bodenplatte and of course, mainly fly the mustang. Both of these are a huge improvement over the original Il-2 graphic wise but nothing in the cockpits are clickable. From what I understand, the new Korea sim will be a big improvement over the Great Battles series but still haven't seen anything about clickable cockpits.

Thanks Greenhouse357 !

Wow! Still no clickable cockpits.... what a waste that would be with such an incredible good looking cockpit ! Probabely would stray away from the game theme too much, right ? Bummer !

Thanks ! (y)

Yes without clicky cockpit it does seem a waste....however the flight modeling and systems model I believe is still quite good. Even though you can't directly interact with the 3Dodel. That said I have not seen that this will NOT be clickable. Just that IL2 has always been non clickable. So there.may be a slim chance. But I'm not holding my breath. It would be really nice to get something in this LOD in MSFS, but for me DCS would be a must and huge boon for WW2 simulation in general.

No clickable cockpit, no buy.
I was not aware of this limitation in the past, and just a few years ago I bought one of the IL2 series to enjoy dogfighting in VR. The disappointment was huge when I discovered that the cockpit wasn't clickable. Fortunately I could get a refund from Steam.
I'm not going to fall in the same trap with that one, no matter how beautiful their cockpits are.
