• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

Voted yes but...

I can be patient. I would prefer a disk but if, for some reason, a disk won't be available for months then I would accept a download. I've downloaded scenery files for Condor, a glider racing sim, and they've been a similar size and presented no problems. Frankly I would not be keen on bit torrent or similar as I have no experience of it, nor do I wish to have.

I'm still a newbie around here so P2 has loads of mileage for me; I'm in no panic.

I voted yes, but as others have said I would rather have the disks. We have waited this long so a while longer won't hurt. It'll be just that much more appreciated when it does get here. You guys have done a phenomenal job and I for one am truly grateful and will wait as long as it takes.

Perhaps it may help if those of us who can download it did so and then burnt discs for those not able to.
Problem is I cannot see how doing that the developers costs could be recouped.
 
I honestly don't know if I can download that much through my DSL line, I am willing to wait for the disk, but would try the download if available. I am a patient soul, I watch paint dry for a living.

Also, I am willing to send in a paypal payment for P3. If the download was available in the short term the disk could be forwarded when available. I think the download should only be available for those that purchase P3.

Did not vote as it may be possible, but it would depend on how the link is provided and it would have to support a download manager or preferably provide a download manager to your desktop, which you then use to download the files like some flight sim addon resellers. But please no wrapper like Flight1 or I would not want it.

I would also have to wait till next month to have enough bandwidth, but that is ok.


If I had to choose between a protected download and an unprotected disk, I will wait for the disk as I have had too many problems with digital downloads for FS2004.


Anyway I am patient, no hurry (I think)

Dear Pol, Winder and Team, I for one agree with Fortiesboy and his post. I think the majority may feel that way as well. I am happy for now with P2 and will gladly wait for what you good men have intended. The time it takes is the time it takes. I hope you can tolerate our impatience during the process. You can do without further grief and we can entertain ourselves like mature people waiting for something that will (unlike so many things these days) be worth the wait. I thank the whole team for sharing your hard work and being a part of this forum. If there is a choice I would wait for a disc version others may choose download. Peace to all

I voted yes, but to OWN a copy of a printed disc/artwork case is the ultimate.

I voted yes because I can do D/L it. But I think that it must be used only as a last resort.

I'd rather not download it. I am sorry for whatever pressure you Devs are being put under from some of the people who are anxiously awaiting your P3 (as I am). I think at some point the Beatles probably got tired of some of their overly eager fans too. We aren't all like that, I promise. Unfortunately the few overly impatient ones tend to be the most vocal. It tends to give the rest of your fans a bad name.

At any rate, yes I can download it but I would surely rather wait a few more days or even a couple more weeks for it to be shipped on disk. I check the website nearly every day to see if the link to the publisher has been posted too, but that doesn't mean I want to put you guys through the hell of coming up with a workable download / payment system just so I can have the game a little bit earlier. You've done enough and sometimes people just have to wait for the good things in life. You don't need to do more, the complainers just needs to either learn some patience or else get another hobby to help them pass the time until P3 is ready.

Not to be rude, but there it is. Now I'm going back to toasting more Japanese Imperial Army troops in Call of Duty: World at War, or possibly leveling my Necromancer in Everquest II. When the P3 disks come out, I'll be more than ready to fly!!! Until then, I'll take my frustrations out in other virtual worlds.

I can download but would realy pefer the disk in case of future computer malfunctions (virus)
 
I downloaded Phase 2 on dialup, took a little over a month. It was worth it though. I'm a patient man. I can download it in about 3 hours no problem, but I'm in no extreme hurry. It ain't like it's fast food! It won't get cold or moldy! However you want to do it guys, makes no difference to me. I'll buy it either way.

If a download option is being considered that is just more choice for all of us...a good thing. I am not sure why we are nattering on about disc versus download....that was not the question Winder asked.
