There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.
If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.
Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Well that's because it is. From the outset this was produced as the Pacific campaign through the eyes of three individuals (Robert Leckie, John Basilone and Eugene Sledge) whose intertwined stories took them from one end of the Pacific to the other. Read the book It's far better.Unlike BoB where we followed a particular unit, whether guys went home or not, we were always with the unit. Pacific feels to me to be more of a story line about individual people rather than about the unit.

Just aired tonight and ...
Well I don't know about anyone else, but this little thing has turned into somewhat of a flop in my book, compaired to BoB.
Anyone else?
I haven't had the chance to watch the new series, but am sorry to hear about the bad reviews. I myself was fearfull that BoB was just too good for anything similar to follow. They set the bar very very high, and I doubt any motion picture or series will come close for awhile to match that....
This has been a recurring comment on every web forum I visit that makes mention of The Pacific.
Everyone had high hopes for this series too.
