Phase 3 . . SOON . . . Phase 3

I can live with Phase 2.. It's more than good enough for the likes of me..:wiggle: I dont want Phase 3 until I come back from my skiing holiday.. I was always told its not good for you to have too many good things at once..:rollerskater:

That time of year I guess-- I've done a bit of skiing on my recent vacation too (though not as much as I'd have liked).

As for P3: of course I'm in too.

Sorry, I've been away way too long! Am I understanding correctly that Phase 3 will be a stand-alone with CFS not needed? I'm crossing my fingers! I have not been able to fly my simulators for over a year due to health probs, but would love totry it again - especially OFF Phase 3!

Welcome back hopper. It's not quite stand-alone (yet :bananapowerslide:). You'll still need either the CFS3 dvd disc or 2-set cd discs to install P3. There is however no need to install CFS3 on your hard drive (for those that choose not to) as the install process just selects what it needs from the disc(s) so in essence it's kind of stand-alone. And the cfs3 dvd version does not require the disc inserted to play.

Well worth it either way imo.

What's the point of the dancing banana ? Nothing. Just felt like popping the little fella in there.

2-CD set discs to OFF Phase 3 but also not! Or???

Indeed! Cannot be "repaired"? With CD crack? I have original 2 CD set discs, but... Grrrrr..... Why did they do it only in DVD version?

Does our CFS3 have to be patched to a specific later version before we install OFF3?

Easy Von Chlum easy. We do not want to raise the ire of middle by mentioning the unmentionable. The ubisoft dvd version of cfs3 has a legal unmentionable which is why I purchased it. Personally, I cannot see the point of inserting discs to play a game if one doesn't have to (legally of course) as it potentially degrades the disc and dvd drive over time as well as being a pain in the arse.

I'd guess that as CFS3 is such an old game now M$ have relaxed their outlook with the newer dvd versions published elsewhere.

Flavious, the dvd is already patched to 3.1a. The cd's may or may not depending on date of manufacture I think. However, easy to get from the M$ CFS3 site.

However, the P3 installer I think includes any required patches if you're going to install off the cd's. Perhaps one of the OFF dev's could clarify further ?

Thanks Guys

I have the original CD's so guess I'm sittin' fat and snug. Guess I best play a round or two of OFF 2 to get back into shape!

Leafhopper, I found playing OFF2 just makes the wait feel worse.

I second that, Blue.

I was hoping for a release today, since as I understand it, most software gets released in Britain on Fridays...but I'm a Yank, so what do I know?

I would hope that the developers would be in close contact with the distributors and could at least give us a bit of an update.

Since I just got my new Trackir set up, P2 is like a new game. It is hard to believe it will only get better with P3!:woot::rapture:

We've been giving updates all along. Yes OBVIOUSLY we are in close contact with the distributors but we are still waiting for internal setup issues. Yes we are getting closer.
We will not put updates like "we think it might be so and so date" when we are not 100% sure. We are not full time developers like MS.. have lives too please hang in there when we know you will know. I think I may have said that before once or twice ahem.

Good answer!
