Piglet's Porter...

I downloaded this one! Nice work! I couldn't even figure out how to paint a straight line on the fuselage of a plane and you can do this artwork!!!! WOW!
Thanks for the compliment but just a couple of years ago I was in the same place you are! It just takes time, patience and a desire to improve yourself and you could be doing paints like that in a couple of years too. ;)

Just uploaded the Vietnam era Australian Porter here at SOH.
Let me know what you think.

I will....

Talking about Australian Porters..... is this another challenge for you? (There are more pictures of this livery available at airliners.net)

Cheers,
Huub

Duh, I forgot to thank Tako_Kichi and Fireball6 for their great liveries too:blind:. Thank you for doing those great repaints:icon29:. "3G-EL" is my favourite Porter-livery and the reason I bought the FS9 Porter from FSD way back when. So it's great to see it in FSX:ernae:.

Amazing work Mr. Conrad! I know that many users were hoping for a freeware Porter!

I'm wondering if a repainter here would be willing to please a few Kiwis, and cover either of these liveries:

Hi Sean, I just uploaded the first of your requests and will start on the second one shortly.

I made the silver stripe metallic so that it 'glistens' as the sun catches it.

Enjoy! :ernae:

I just uploaded a replacement bump map texture if anyone would like it. I found that the original had certain 'artifacts' that detracted from the look of the aircraft so I created a new one from scratch.

In the shots below you can see the difference between the old one ('mottled' wings and fuselage) and the new one (smooth surfaces with crisp panel and rivet lines).

Enjoy! :ernae:

Thanks Larry, i noticed the same. :salute:

Your bump map makes the aircraft spec very (factory) clean, while Piglet's gives some sort of ageing effect. I like them both.
With your permission i'd like to include both in future repaint uploads so downloaders can choose (with the proper credits and manual of course).

Awesome thanks Tako_Kichi!:ernae:....this will make some members very happy at NZFF. Also looking forward to the Mount Cook scheme...BTW the parrot scheme is a work of art.

I have no problem with you using my bump map in that way provided that you include a credit in the documentation but you might also wish to say that the bump map file is only required if the downloaders don't already have it from here. Of course no damage would be done by simply copying it over again.

I agree that Piglet's original would look great on a bashed and battered Porter (with a suitable spec map too of course) but I prefer the clean look on the paints I have turned out so far.

I just uploaded ZK-MCN to the library here.

I had to make some compromises based on the different nose shape and the fact that Piglet mapped the same spinning prop texture to both sides of the prop but it still looks pretty good IMHO.
Enjoy! :ernae:

Stunning work! I can't thank you enough on behalf of the New Zealand Flightsim Forums members for these liveries! :jump:
