Ten years ago when I started flying in MSFS2000 I had a freeware FSD Pilatus PC-6 Porter. It worked in Fs2002 but no longer in Fs9. I never bought the payware aircraft until yesterday when I saw a thread in the FsX forum by Roger about this aircraft. For only $15 I got the V2.0 which includes the land, float and ski versions and some free repaints; what a great deal!
It might not be the prettiest aircraft around but it does the job it was designed for very well; some excellent STOL capabilities!
Amount of runway used on landing with an 11 knots headwing:
Of course it does a typical Porter trick too: put the prop in reverse and dive at a ninety degree angle without overspeeding:
Default Courchevel used to be a problem because of the altitude, short runway and the tress at the end of the strip:
