Planes I'm surprised have never shown up in FS9

You know, with FS9 being out for almost a decade, I am really surprised not to have seen any Basler BT-67s, or DC-3S/R4D-8/C-117 Super DC-3s for that matter. Including the default Dak, there are, what, six or seven add-on DC-3s out there and no one has done a stretched or turboprop one?

I'm hip, been looking for the same ones myself. I think there's a DC-3 sleeper version of the MAAM-SIM C-47 for FSX, but none for FS9. That's another one you could add, I suppose.

We've got a devotee of the P5M Mercator working on a version for FS9, which is great!

Recently someone released a Convair Tradewind for FSX. I tried converting the textures for use in FS9, but no soap.

I think Manfred Jahn has a Basler in the works. Not sure if it will also be for FS9 though.

The model in progress is in FSX, but his C-47 started out as an FSX model too, so he might do a FS9 version once the FSX BT-67 is finished.

There is a thread over at Calclassic about Manfred's BT-67 project, all looking very nice. He's said that the current plan is to release this for FSX & then look at retroengineering it for FS9, which will be a nice treat. Looking forward to this, Manfred & the team always do great work.

Y'know I'm surprised we've never seen a Bede BD-4. I'd think it'd be pretty easy to make being all right angles and squarish proportions.
A couple of other planes I would like to see:
Aeronca 15AC Sedan (think widened 4-place Citabria)
Marco J-5 Motorglider (this one's truly obscure but it is a beautiful homebuilt design)
Schleicher ASK-21M (self-launching sailplane with the retractable motor and prop)

Along those same lines, I'd also love to see a decent Lisunov Li-2 variant for FS9.

I now this is completely different, but another one missing from FS9 is the Nemesis NXT. I've been wishing for one for years! I even went so far as to contact the makers myslef to ask if they'd be willing to work with a developer, and they were open to the idea. I passed along the info to one payware house (can't remember which one now), but nothing ever came of it.

Now, in terms of complete blue sky, I would love to see the Avro Jetliner, although that's a personal conceit as I am infatuated with it.

Also on my wish list are the British experimental jet transports: the Nene Viking, the Jet Viscount, and the Avro Ashton. Perhaps the first two might be possible if I asked Jens Kristensen nicely enough, as he already has the models for the prop Viking and Viscount...

Well, the Ashton was based on the Tudor, and Jens did make a Tudor too! ;-)

yeah the AVRO Atlantic would be an interesting WHIf bird alright.... there is one for FS9 if i recall, but it's a bit thin on the ground.... :jump:

When discussions like this come up I always put in a word for the R4D-8/C-117. Considering how long these planes served and the many paint jobs they've had, it would be a great addition to FS9 and/or FSX.
