• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

I couldn't get the cfs gamematch server to work. I want to learn how to play multiplayer game but not sure how exactly. Would be greatful for any help anyone could give thx.

The cfs gamematch server is no longer running , we now play CFS3 IP to IP ,you are welcome to join any of the games posted here .
First off you need your CFS3 updated to 3.1 and 3.1a [from M$ website updates] , also your CFS3 copy must be clean -no modifications or you'll get a mismatch. Lastly if you are running Vista-sorry Vista will not play on line right now [some hope an update in the future may fix this] you need XP .In this thread you will find games posted that says 'game on' with an IP address. Fire up CFS3 go to multi player, join private game. Enter the IP address in the box. This will connect you to the game. When the host shuts the game down they usually change the post to 'game off'.

Hosting a game is a bit more difficult , if you have a router you must open it's ports to allow players into your computer .
If you are trying to host a online game ,
Go to -mulitiplayer
-Host Game
-Game Name ,and make sure you UNCHECK the box next to "Publish my game in the CFS3 Game Match directory"
-start your game
-post your 'game on' + IP address
GOOD LUCK -one eye

NP - you could do what Maximus did -split his hard drive, 1/2 runs on XP and 1/2 runs on Vista- ask Max he is all knowing on these matters.
