pre war KLM repaints of the default DC-3?

Are there pre war KLM repaints of the default DC-3?
I could use some Dutch civilian traffic for my fields apart from the military.

Hoi Cees,

Quite a long time ago I was thinking about making a pre-war KLM repaint for the default DC-3. However, there are limitations which kept me from doing that. For example the name Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij is hard to apply as you will see on the picture of the texture I attached. Probably the name will be mirrored on one side. The same thing with the registration on the wings.

I think it will make more sense to choose the AI DC-3 model of California Classics (Tom Gibson) as that model doesn't have the limitations the default DC-3 has.

Groeten,
Maarten

BTW, I messed about a bit with the doors on this texture to make this LOT aircraft look a bit more like a Li-2, but even that didn't work out completely.

Cees,

I checked the Cal Classic AI models and found an all-metal livery for an AI DC-3 with a texture set which looks much more repaint-friendly than the default one. No mirroring crap etc. I could have a try for you. Will take a few days as I am struggling with a burn-out.

Groeten,
Maarten

That's two of us then Maarten. Mine started February and I'm on the way back, but I'm afraid I'm losing my job this time. Hold on buddy!

Oh my goodness (I wrote an other expression a minute ago ;-) )! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Cees. You hold on too!

Just taking things as they come: one by one, but doing my utmost to turn the tide.....There's nothing more I can do.

Cees, wishing you the best! I'd be interested in that pre war KLM paint myself.

BTW, on the default DC-3 wording on the sides of the fuselage doesn't mirror. If you look at the texture, it wraps across the top to the other side. The wording is upside for that reason. (I've done a couple of repaints for it)

I see what you mean, Willy. The problem is though that KLM painted the full name of the company under the windows and I haven't a clue how to solve that peculiarity.

Anyway, I'll have a try on the CalClassic ai model.

Cheers,
Maarten

Hoi Cees,

Here is "my" version of the pre-war KLM DC-3, based on CalClassic's AI DC-3.
