Puss Moth Released!

Well, the updates went faster than I expected.

The purpose of this optional update is to add specular highlites to the exhaust pipes, and add a new model as shown.

This zip replaces 2 model folders, adds a new model folder, adds a new texture folder, and provides an aircraft.cfg [fltsim.n] section update for the new model.

Wow, looks freakin' GREAT!
I love the way the landing gear legs move when you land on a grass strip (when viewed from VC at .50%)
With the update, it really looks like I'm flying on the "Dark Side".

that great hydraulic system has transformed alot of really stinko approaches on my part into walkaway landings on the DH80's part. But hey, every non-broken landing is another triumph...

LOL I guess most people understand I have a landing gear fetish. I like the action to look realistic too. This was the most complicated set of animations I have ever done for landing gear mainly because of the flap/airbrake implementation. Essentially in the model hierarchy, the landing gear components are subordinate to (children of (the parents)) the flap animations. This required 9 animations in each leg and 2 weeks to get right. The turning upper and lower gear struts required this kind of setup.

The bottom line is that it all worked out and the suspension is very forgiving. Zipping across a grassy field really shows off the animations, with or without the flaps(airbrakes) deployed.

Thanks to everyone for the support on this project. Your interest and comments are always inspiring and supportive and makes all the efforts worthwhile. :ernae:

The Puss Moth was a fun project for us, one that needed to be done, and I hope we did her justice.

Now we move on to the next one and here's hoping she will bring some smiles to the many Beechcraft fans here.

Thanks

Perhaps not what most of the members would like to hear, but do take your time Milton. The still Puss Moth needs a lot of flying hours ;)
