Question on ATC gauge

I'm still in the process of sorting out the different versions of FS9 I'm installing in my G drive. One of the modifications I've made is to give my DC-3 the Beaumont-Bitzer 4-fuel-tank option for increased realism. After installing everything from the web into the sim - instead of just transferring it over - I've found the sim will load the 4-tank BB panel, but will come up with a message that has to be clicked repeatedly - at least a dozen times - to get it to go away. The box says FS9 will continue to run but this gauge will not work. The gauge is "ATC-WHM.gau". There is a missing circular instrument in the DC-3's BB panel if this gauge file is removed.

Does anyone know what this gauge does, and is there a way to fix this little problem? I've noted removing the gauge from the "Gauges" folder in FS9 has no effect.
 
Try removing the gauge from the panel.cfg file. But first:

As for what the gauge actually is, I haven't a clue, but when I asked Mr. Google, instead of an explanation of what the gauge does, I got this page of hits for how to fix the error message.

One of them might also explain what the gauge is, so if you can't make it work, you'll be able to look for a replacement that does the same thing.

Copy and save the gauge's line in the panel.cfg file, because if you have to replace the gauge, you'll have the coordinates to put the replacement in the proper place and at the correct size.
 
The Gauge in question sounds like David 'Opa' Marshall's (RIP) "ATC Gauge", which gave you a numerical, clickable 'strip' in order to answer the Default ATC without having the ATC window open. However, the 'round' Description of the Gauge SS101 gave doesn't sound like Opa's.

SS101... what DC-3 are you using (Manfred Jahn's, JustFlight, MS Default, or MAAM-SIM)?

Just looking on Avsim for that gauge and came up with the two people who made it, I think.

Bill Morad is sadly no longer with us , but Bill Familton was posting on Avsim in the summer last year, so you might be able to get in touch and get some info on the gauge.

Thanks Andy, I may yet do that but may want to try a couple of other things first, if my luck doesn't hold.

This one will probably really tax the memories of those viewing this thread. I'm using the Mark Beaumont, of "Beaumont and Bitzer" fame, IFR and VFR panels for the default DC-3 in FS2004. When I first installed the panels IAW procedures contained in the download, I got the results previously described. After stripping out and reinstalling the two IFR panels and two VFR panels for this aircraft, I have not experienced the same condition and everything seems to be working normally. I'm having to reinstall all four panels into the fsfsconv file in every sim, but so far they're working fine.

BTW the round gauge that disappeared the first time was the pilot's VSI on the Beaumont DC-3 IFR panel.
