Quickie...Ready for Takeoff!

I tried using a denim texture for the pants and another weave texture for the shirt and discovered that that's not doable, lol, The textures are stretched and so it just stretches the weave pattern into a stripe, lol. I used a carpet texture for the interior of one of the cockpits and that actually works pretty well, because once again the texture is stretched and so it gives it a pretty acceptable texture.
What Daube was talking about (darkening the area under the rudder pedals) might be a trial and error thing since one texture does the entire interior, so you'd have to figure out what section of that one texture falls in the area you want to darken then changed the "brightness and contrast" settings for that specific spot on the texture. It may or may not be possible given the way the texture is stretched anyway, darkening just one section could find it stretched into other areas that you don't want darkened.

It would be nice to have shaded corners and cubies but with out any way of aliening them up I wasn"t going to spend alot of time on it, just wanted something different.

Well, I think it looks pretty good! I was curious how an interior repaint would turn out. I did not map each face of the interior tub separately for various reasons, which makes shading areas pretty much impossible. I'll look at it while the update is being worked on, but this one may stay 'as-is'.

the ability to paint the interior would be nice but is not really an essential, she's a beauty as she is...

Yea, we have the ability to texture the interior to a point anyway, so I don't see it as a big deal either. Thanks Robert for the work you're currently doing for the update. This is a real hit!!

Thanks guys. Here is what I think will be the panel lighting...

Next is mounting the switches for all the lighting circuits, and figuring out where to put the landing light! Also, I feel that I now have a correct external material so you get some reflection & specular effect :)

Canopy Reflection?

Hi: Is there a file I can remove or rename that will get rid of the reflections in the canopy? It's a cool effect, but I find it, i dunno, distracting sometimes...Looking forward to the new changes (lighting, etc)...Thanks for a nifty little plane...

It's mapped to the glass texture, but it's not mapped in a way that you can eliminate it. I could tone it down in the material settings some more and include that in the update. The other possibility would be to have 2 interior models...with & without the reflection, and you can swap in the one you like :d

Probably toned down would do the trick...It's really not a big deal, but maybe it would be nice to choose...Thanks for considering my suggestion...

ok i changed my mind, i'm on the "i want to paint the inside" bus now :icon_lol: spent the last 3 hours touring in it and thinking it after the first hour, apart from that and the shining issue already sorted you have a beauty of a quickie, fantastic work, and that panel lighting..... can i say suh-weet?!

I agree - I love this plane and look forward to any updates and options that might come along :ernae:

its a real fun flier - thanks for taking the time to put it together and make it available - :ernae:

I guess it's a good thing I'm on vacation from work for the next two weeks! :icon_lol:

fantastic news! for you at least :icon_lol: i've got a hectic period coming up Repaints, bring my Demonstration routine in FSX down from 3000ft to 1500ft then down to 500ft, but repaints will be the killer.... notably on the Quickie :jump: can't wait to slap RAF and USAAC marking on her :jump::jump:

I like it, it´s a very different bird, and it works great for aerobatics... Thank you Robert!

Painted me a personal one... Haven´t really done it before, kinda like it myself...

:icon29: Nice paint!

The update is getting there. The landing light went in on the nose below the prop, and it looks believable to me in terms of something added later. ;)
The light effects are done, and I'm working on modeling the tip lighting bits right now.

I also will look at making his shades go away when it's dark out :icon_lol:
