Reflective Saber!

Well, I've finally had the chance to look over the paint kit...which I was unaware of previously! Sorry, a total noobie here in DCS realm...My apologies to "Reflected" for having used one of his paints as a test bed previously,...but since then I've been messing with the official paint kit to come to some kind of "base metal" texture set...just to come to grips with how the textures all interact...getting there....here's my 5th attempt....lol....getting better...I could go with this for now, until I get a more fluid understanding about how this new PBR system works. I setup the Spec Paint file with Discreet shading per channel so that I can perform non destructive tests....I really need getting used to it, but man, once it's setup, seems like it's a great way to go. I like this work flow, compared to P3D....I do find a few things annoying but on the whole it's not too bad switching back and forth.

Wow Rick! Those last posted shots look like camera quality shots of the real deal! Outstanding work good Sir, outstanding indeed!

BTW, is that Edwards in the background?

Many thanks guys. It is very rewarding to get such results in this sim. Makes the effort really with it. There are a few things that I still prefer about legacy texturing but on the whole, DCS is far superior. I was mistaken though, it's not PBR. It's "differed shading" rendering. PBR will be introduced in v2.5 AFAIK. But it does work similarly.

Definitely looking forward to 2.5 release and seeing what new skins can be produced by you, Tom and others. Simply outstanding work Rick. Additionally 2.5 will then merge it all together, allowing flights over the Caucuses, Normandy and Nellis, woohoo!

Just need to change out the helmet for Jabara's Red and white striped one, and I'll call this one complete. I'll include this white helmet with early USAF insignia as an optional texture as well as Yellow, plain Red, and black as part of the package. I'll also make the bare metal scheme available.
