Repaint for Piglet's A-12A Avenger II

I was not really satisfied with my previous RAAF releases as I always felt they needed a better graphic solution to hang with the big boys. I just could not nail it down. But this one (retrieved from my repaint trash bin) can now hold its own against the RAF repaint. I'm really really happy with this one. I've also included a stripped down version that was a user requested mod. I really like it too; it's clean and simple.

With that handle, this repaint was without question, destined for you .... :icon_lol:

Nice job on these repaints. I'm sure Tim had no idea this model would spawn as many ideas and schemes as have materialised .... cool!

Your Vietnam Scheme isn't that far afield. Check out the paint scheme on the GD "Sneaky Pete" design in the lower left hand of this photo.

Hummmmm.....seems to be an old classified photo from the old Soviet skunk works.....the bird looks familiar.....strange......

Actually....my two 'fave' aircraft are the Thud and the Foxbat ...so maybe I should have a go at a Mig25 inspired version next...;)

Seems like they were here quite a while ago.....another classified photo from the old Soviet skunk works has leaked out.

Looks like a lot of rivets on the skin of this bird; must be some old school technology being used here.....

I think this one's about right...now.
I had to spread the USAF text to clear the green/white spine .... and add the 'nose art' - reminiscent of the Vietnam era...
This is 92-002 of the 355th TFS Chiefs - 'Marilyn Monroe'.
Yes, it's still a 'what-if'...but inspired by F105s of the time ...
Hopefully not 'too much' weathering...;)

Not bad. Pretty close to what I was thinking. Maybe more subdued. Excellent repaints overall!
