Repaint for Piglet's A-12A Avenger II

They're cool...;) I followed the 'normal' text 'shaped' to the wings as in the Hornets - with the rear 'end' of the form becoming the 'wings'. I have a bit more to do on mine before it's done.

Meanwhile....the Red Arrows one is 'blocked in' with the linework cleanup yet to do.....

Fantastic repaints! Still one of my favourite Piglet aircraft!

Can I put in a request for an A-12 in one of these schemes....?

The orange lion:

Or the shockwave:

Possibly...I'll need to look into them....;)

Edit....just got an email from Tim .... looks like I'm good to go with my skin uploads ...so I'm gonna be a busy little wood duck ....;)

Did I mention this particular model is a lot of fun?

It is...;)

The bum-side of the Snowbird.
It's all inspired from this one....

Nice job on these!!!

I've always thought the angular lines of the Avenger II had a NASA test-bed look about it - might lend itself to a scheme like this ... a flying wing, if not a lifting body ... :)

Just an idea. Love the work you two have put into this bird...

Thanks DL.....

Once I finish my current in-progress repaint for the AlphaSim / Virtavia Martin Mars, I'll get back to finishing up the Blue Angels repaint. My friend wants me to "surprise" him with the finished product, though he already has had access to the current scheme shown in this thread for a few months now. He says it has grown on him and he doesn't really want me to change it at all. I think I can still surprise him and leave it as is.......

The NASA one as an 'X' plane wouldn't be too hard..... worth a go....
Meanwhile....the Snowbird is finished....even down to the two different vers of the Sqdn 431 badges....;)

Eek.....just looked at the RNLAF one.....that's gonna be a challenge....;)

Edit.....

VERY early in the process ....finding a suitable Lion-Rampant was the first problem....but maybe near enough....

Edit 2 .... sort of works....assuming they'd make use of the 'bigger canvas'.....

Yes, I looked at the Dutch coat of arms....but was also looking for similar form and lineworking to what's on the 16s....

That lion actually isn't on 'all fours'....it's 'rampant'.....but I probably should have angled it at 45 to the axis of the plane....that way it'd be more obvious.

Nothing as yet has been complete and/or ideal.

There 'has to be' a complete lion 'graphic' from which the 16's artwork was applied.
If you can find it [not just the little bits on the 16] I'll be able to do it properly...;)

That's more like it!

Haven't been able to find a better suited lion anyway; yours looks about correct.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! :ernae:

The shockwave scheme works really well with the triangular shape of the A-12! :applause:

The lion looks cool too!
