Revisiting the Cloud 9 Phantom porting issue..

Eric Marciano's Radar

Has anyone taken a look at trying Eric's payware radar for the C9 Phantom.

I once purchased it for FS9. I'm thinking about getting his FSX version so I can use the amber screen for the C9 Phantom.

Any thoughts??

Pretty-well finished my 1680 Panel...though I still have the 105 stick in it instead of an F4 one....

Probably need to research the annunciator coding as some of it seems inverted - probably due to the cold/dark state settings gauge....and the gauges bottom left probably need to be all trim indicators...at the moment 2 are Hyds.

Lightened it all a bit cos much of it was hard to see [luck/timing of the screencap].
Dunno if anyone would want it....most is compatible with all the porting work done...except I remmed out the AFCS_Switches gauge in the VC to allow the AP to function OK in the 2D.

Then the fun starts if I try to adapt/do all the other versions of the F4...this one's an 'F'....;)

I like it, I'd take a copy if you post it up.

Try this:

;RADAR OPTION 3: Eric Marciano radar
;gauge41=Phantom_X!Radar_Mode_switch_F16, 646,369,55,55
;gauge42=Phantom_X!Radar_Range_switch_F16, 723,312,41,36
;gauge43=Radar!Circular Green, 402,224,197,196
;gauge44=RadarControl!Transp Horizontal Mode Switch, 646,369,55,55
;gauge45=RadarControl!Transp Horizontal Range Switch, 723,312,41,36

Anyone got a working parking brake?

That is by design, see Cloud9 manual, page 40: "The airplane is not equipped with a parking brake."

I tried to add a parking brake gauge but the MDL file does not recognize the parking brake key command.
Alternatively You can use the emergency brake (see my kneepad - pilot notes)

Hello,

Here is the solution
Change 0 to 1

[brakes]
toe_brakes_scale=1.00000
parking_brake=0 <--------- 1

:very_drunk:

Thanks Zsolt, works perfect !!
I will upload a new version to the library incl the afterburner FX and parking brake fixes.

Tom's VF-151 paint looks great. Just the right shade of medium gull grey to set off the white control surfaces. NB: I swapped the VF161 weapons bmp to have white drop tanks.

Also, I now have a fully navalised cockpit with the RFN Tacan gauge installed in the VC as well as the ARS4 radar. People may not be aware that the ARS4 not only tracks moving AI planes and ships but also you can couple your AP to a selected moving AI aircraft or ship and your plane will fly to its location and altitude (for e.g. refueling). C9 F-4 traps and launches well with the settings in the upgrade. Thanks very much for all the good work on this!

Still having issues with the flaps.

Maybe its my ignorance (am more USN/USMC familiar), surprisingly, I have not been able to track down more than a few C9 F-4E repaints for USAF aircraft and squadrons that actually saw action in SEA. There are SEA style schemes but for a/c e.g. serving in Europe post 1974 and some (Keflavik 57th) that are pre-74 but don't appear to ever been assigned to duty in Vietnam. Maybe its because by the end of the war 80% of the USAF were actually based in Thailand which was kind of a secret. Also have not found a good on line source of SEA F-4E profiles of squadron colors/markings (like in the link):

Hi there!

First off...a big thank you to all involved in getting the C9 F-4E/F back into the air! :applause:
It is a delight to phly my old love again...

I installed the portover pack 1.0 that is in the downloadsection and noticed that when using the AB, it shines through the panels on the underside of the engine compartments.
It looks like the red glow from the AB chamber is tilted a bit to steep and thus shines through a bit...

Anybody else noticed this...or is there something wrong on my end? I did not alter the files in the portoverpack in any way.

:wavey:

zsolt, that has to be the best weathering I have see you do on any model, flyable or ai, yet! I'm almost tempted to find my C9 files and get into this portover action while I wait on the WIP FSX builds.

I looked into it and found that it's the first two diamond effects that is causing a faint afterglow underneath. Those two effects are within the nozzle area. Fix is on the way. TF
