Here's more pain! :friday:

A short flight I took this morning in FSX. I used the REALITY Texture settings in REX and my own settings for the cloud layers.

If you have ten minutes of spare time. I really didn't know I could capture FSX in FRAPS this well. Set FRAPS at half-frame, 25 fps and FSX is set at 20. Never got below 19 fps in the record mode. No stutter. Amazing. :ernae:

o ya...lets see....subtract 10 min out of my 13 hour wait for completion of Rex download...I got time to spare...nice Cazzie and the music put my soul at rest.

At Last.

Well I got there at last, 36hours from when I started.
It's downloaded and installed and working, had one short flight no time for pictures yet and still goto play with all the settings. I think it will take awhile to get used to after FEX, but looks good so far.

I got a bit heated during the prolonged download, just pure frustration at the time it took. I see others are also having problems, but touch wood everything seems to work and I'm using Vista 64. Weather Engine works O.K. too.

how does it compare to FEX? i've got FEX so is REX really worth it? Apart from the water i havnt seen it do anything that FEX cant so :sleep:

Good for you Bruce! Hope you enjoy and look forward to your screenies. Looks like my download will take as long as your or longer :banghead:. O please O please downloader...get caught in a jet stream of 200k/sec so the pain will be done.
 
I just started DL'ing REX. The first file romped in at 500+ Kbs which is a good speed for my connection. The second file is struggling to get above 9 Kbs! :isadizzy:

How many different things can you change? Sunsets? Sunrises? Daytime sky? Moon? Stars? Grass texture?

Timest covered it all. there no land textures other than runway and taxi enhancements along with lighting. The water can be adjusted.

Really? I was under the impression there were. So basically if you have GEX, you can install this over it and it won't touch your land textures, correct?
