  • Special Server Maintenance

    Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

    You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

    If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

    To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

the model is accompanied by some external effects (looks like a smoke?) just above the ground. Is it any fix for this? 1.2v.

Can you list everything in the [effects] section of the aircraft.cfg? Looking for some kind of water_spray effect or maybe snow_spray.

I have noticed this as well. (I see puffs and also toward the horizon it looks like a brush fire is happening.) I have noticed it is linked to the smoke effect. (Which seems to work backward. More smoke as I close the throttle and none above about 50-60% throttle. It also goes away under about 25% or so.)

My impressions are the same. Its not present always and it depends from the speed or the throttle.

We've just released the Version 1.3 of our Crusader which brings you wing pylon's armament, Tacpack compatibility and some specific Electronic warefare panels.
We took also this occasion to fix some bugs (like smoke issue un P3D) and improve some cockpit stuff.
I hope you will enjoy this version !

Hi,
Both USN F-8E and F-8J models have wing pylons and weapons.
Tacpack is required only if you want to fire or drop weapons with simulated impacts/effects.
Without Tacpack you can pick up a wing configuration among the 9 configurations provided by the gauge (shift+1).

I don't have Tacpack.

Go to the pull down menu at the top of the screen:

Instrument Panel
Configurations (the payload configurator has tabs on the left side of the menu to select between the fuselage and wings)

First I have to say this is an awesome addon and it is great to have something that is properly tacpack'd! A huge thank you to the developer! I noticed what appears to be a glitch on the Tacpack loader... On the wings stores when I select 4 zuni pods LAU 10 it loads properly but when I switch over to other payloads such as 8 MK82s the Zuni pods are still present on top of the mk 82s. Also for example if I load sidewinders but then try to switch to a Zuni or empty pylon the sidewinders are still present... Has anyone else noticed these issues?
