River cargo barge

Is there a steerable or AI river cargo barge like the one created as a static object for CalClassic?

I very vaguely remember seeing something similar with an Aerosoft scenery, used on the Rhine, along with a river cruise ship. Thanks for any information.

check for other sorts of barges in the FS-Freeflow Bahamas and Bermuda for FS2004 as available at avsim flight library; perhaps something therein to your liking...

the other best bet is to look into NL2000 v3se for FS2004 AI shipping traffic...judging by those windmills

with regards to Aerosoft:

Scenery Germany Bremen possibly? - still available at simmarket

or other Scenery Germany titles - available presumably at second hand shops...

cheers!

Well minded again. But these are the scheduled AI ships:

AC#2101,54,"AI Garwood Cruiser 1934"
AC#2102,54,"AI Garwood Cabin Cruiser 1934"
AC#2103,54,"AI Los Angeles Class Sub"
AC#2104,54,"AI Vessel HM Bark Endeavour"
AC#2106,54,"AI Cruise Ship Asuka"
AC#2107,60,"AI Hovercraft"

An Endeavour cruising on Durch channels? Really, it's extremely simple to create such ship traffic for a scenery package which tries to fit as much as possible with the reality. As we users would be such stupid! However, that´s not the purpose of my inital post.

my mistake, I had entirely forgotten about the type of the AI shipping traffic

fs-shipyards would have been your best bet; perhaps ask around; anyhow...

cheers!

Not to de-rail the topic, but something I left out of The Arircraft Carrier thread was some (static) world-wide shipping scenery from FS2002 that works fine in FS9. :wiggle:

The problem is that it was only available from Flightsim.com, but either check your downloads folder or, maybe I could post the zip files here?

The zip files are:

scfshwo-1.zip - Cruise ships, Ferries, and ocean liners. World-wide coverage.

tankfs8.zip - World-wide tankers and bulk carrier ships.

sh02pat.zip - Patch file for both zips. This cleans up some missing textures and ship placement issues.

Files were created and uploaded by "G. Guichard" for FS2002.
For carrier scenery, it gives you something to search for after you fly off the ship.
Its also a good excuse to fire-up your Maritime Patrol planes. :ernaehrung004:

All the ships are placed accurately. Ferries show up where you expect them and the tankers and bulk carriers tend to follow actual shipping lanes and choke points. Locations for all ships are documented, BUT a couple of those locations are a little "off". To me, this is a feature and not a bug.

Cool beans! :geek:
I knew they were available from FS.com but couldn't find them anywhere else.
These are "basic" FS2002 sceneries so you only get the ship BGLs and the documentation (they don't show up with Nav radios or in the Map View).

These are static objects, and I have them from CalClassic's Customs Scenery Library. The barge shown above is one of these.
