Hey guys,

Before I put this one back up into the library at SOH and to my site, I want a couple of folks to put it through the wringer.

There have been many changes to this campaign...

1) The most significant is a new Canadian UIRES pack created by Dirtman which includes all screens needed to run a Canadian campaign. (I would have known that if I had read the original Canadian nationality pack, my fault)

2) The campaign file has been fixed (It was a simple numbering error!)

3) Random chance elements have been added to some missions to provide a more dynamic experience.

4) The Port of Cherbourg (mission 19) was ripped up and rebuilt from scratch.

5) Missions involving movable ships and vehicles have been modified to allow you more flexibility in your target selection.

6) Lastly, you will not be able to fly the Mosquito in this campaign unless you achieve the hidden goal in mission 14. I have provided a hint telling you what to target, and if you achieve that goal, you are asked to fly to Bircham Newton aerodrome to begin training on the Mosquito for strikes on Kiel and a Focke-Wulf factory. Otherwise, you skip right over those two missions in the campaign.

When Dirtman uploads his UIRES pack to SOH, the campaign will shortly follow if there are no hiccups in beta testing.

If you're interested, send me a PM with your e-mail.

Mosquito Squadron has received the same treatment as the above campaign, especially with regards to random chance elements and missions concerning moving ground vehicles and ships.

In addition, the Port of Dover has been added for a reconnaissance sweep.

However, there are no "hidden" missions in this campaign.

I would like a beta tester or two to put them through the wringer.

Rami, as you know I've flown 13 of the missions with no problems. I DID have a problem with a CTD for mission 14 right after the first window showing my cockpit loads. I didn't even get a chance to start my engine. I tried this numerous times with the same result each time. I did a clean install for this but perhaps it's only my install on this and it would be good to find out. I'm stumped, but then again I'm not very knowledgeable with MB so don't know how to check this out.

Because this is a campaign, I didn't fly the individual missions stand alone other than mission 14 which continued to crash on me.

Hope this campaign turns out A-1.....I know you've done a lot of good work on this.

Alpha_1,

I took a fresh look at RCAF and flew missions 14 and 17. No CTDs, and they loaded every time. I can't seem to replicate your problem, buddy!

I'm still gathering all the gear for the RCAF. Man, it's the first time I left the PTO. It's like starting all over, what a chore! :ernae:

RCAF BoB, airfields misplaced -anybody

Although I have sometimes had blowups of A/C at start-up, in the above scenario, and the MTO, the airfields are misplaced as the Tiffy starts on a hill in Detling, so my airport maps are out of sync., any suggestions/suspicions. This might be the problem to CTDs?, as an aside thought! P.S. Solved lag problems, that popped up, in CFS2, and some recent Heavy Duty games. Could have saved the waste of reloading Windoze, as the problem was in the dual connection of my video card, (maybe the default was wrong, picking monitor?) and had to default the Sound to Windows Default. Still not perfect, but it fixed video stuttering lag. Never give up, there is always a solution!

Hooraw,

If I had to guess, not knowing what your ETO scenery looks like, it's either a numbering order problem in your scenery.cfg OR you have some kind of a mesh conflict.

Just so you know,

The Messerschmitt Me-262 campaign has been "retired," and is now up at my site, and will be shortly at SimV.

Hooraw,

I think I may have discovered a possible cause of your scenery conflict. Using the BoB auto-installer, (which is one of the reasons I dislike auto-installers) it is configured to not only install the airbases and the Ventnor Radar station, but to also install mesh and coastlines for Northwest Europe.

Considering that you already have Sander's ETO files installed, this is something you DO NOT want to have. If you have already installed the Bob pack, don't fret, I'll show you how to fix it.

However, for others who will install this pack, make sure to leave the "New Europe Water" UNCHECKED.

For those who have installed it with these coastlines, you want to go into the CFS2\SCENERY folder (NOTE: This is NOT the SCENEDB folder) and delete any files that begin with "hyp5." These are the coastlines that may be causing you problems.

Then, make sure you delete the filelist.dat that is inside that folder as well.

Here are some pics to explain the process.

Not one to give up easily, I've just finished doing a 100%, from scratch, clean RCAF install. I'm pretty sure my problems with mission 14 were something to do with the mix and match scenery I had in my first install. By mix and match I mean I copied some stuff from my ETO Early install, some stuff from my ETO Late install......some had new mesh, some did not......trying to save time and effort.......a probable sure recipe for disaster.

This time nothin' fancy......basic stuff for now. I'm up to mission three as I write, and all seems fine so far. Doing the dedicated, from scratch install took a lot of time, but I'm sure it'll clear up my problems. Will keep y'all informed of my progress.
:bump: Cheers all!

I've been lumbering my way through an ETO install, mostly to get to this campaign. After many weird and frustrating hours I have got almost everything working. Still missing some objects in the library, they just WILL NOT show up. This morning I installed Dirty's Canadian Nationality Complete Screenpack. Well sir, I gotta say again, that Dirtman is not just another pretty face! Thanks, Dirty, we Canuks needed this. Whenever I see the real Canadian flag, I remember back to better times in our history. I can see you did a lot of work on this, and it looks great. I even got to see the graveyard, I believe it was my wingman's fault, I am pretty sure he was a yank.:salute::ernae:

Don't apologize, Ed.....I feel exactly the same as you do about the new flag. I'm ex RCN and that was a thousand years ago....I seem to recall saluting something quite different.....:salute:

Mission 14

Hi all. Well I've solved my mission 14 "a devestating attack" mission problems....sorta. The mission now loads and stays loaded so it had to have been a scenery conflict issue. This install is bare bones required downloads only and it flies perfectly. In my old install (my fault entirely) I had too many different meshes clashing, etc.

I have a new problem, however. In this mission, according to the briefing screen, I'm supposed to be escorting some Mossies on their mission, joining in when possible. As it turns out, the mossies show up as enemy aircraft, and there is no warp to catch up with them. I just checked my country.cfg file and my callsign.dat files plus the mission file.

The country.cfg looks OK, at least to me. The callsign does list British 'Bulldog'. However, in looking at the mission file I don't see any mossies at all. Now I know there's a hidden goal in one of these missions and I may have missed it. Gawd knows, I don't want to have to shoot down the 5 mossies.

I must have taken a left turn somewhere so any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!:banghead:

Alpha_1,

First off, "A devastating attack" is mission 17, not 14. Also, if the Mossies are shooting at you, then there IS a problem with your country.cfg

Here, use mine...

Sorry about that, Rami.....right! Mission 14, not 17. They're not shooting at me...they're on their way to wherever it is they're supposed to go. I always use aircraft labels and these show up red with my enemy indicator zero'd in on 'em (the mossies) I'll try your file and let you know. Thanks

YESSSSS!!....Didn't realize that the first part of the country.cfg had to be edited!
