I have a new problem, however. In this mission, according to the briefing screen, I'm supposed to be escorting some Mossies on their mission, joining in when possible. As it turns out, the mossies show up as enemy aircraft, and there is no warp to catch up with them. I just checked my country.cfg file and my callsign.dat files plus the mission file.

The country.cfg looks OK, at least to me. The callsign does list British 'Bulldog'. However, in looking at the mission file I don't see any mossies at all. Now I know there's a hidden goal in one of these missions and I may have missed it. Gawd knows, I don't want to have to shoot down the 5 mossies.

I must have taken a left turn somewhere so any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

#2 The first thing you'll see (in Mis 15) is a JU88 (type_id=3896). Then a flight of 2 - BF110G2's (type_id=3932). Which COULD be mistaken for Mossie's at a distance.

The mission file & country.cfg look fine so I recommend you apply the old CFS2 rule: "When displayed in red - make them dead." .... just shoot them all down!

I don't have a recent Euro install so all I can do is read the mission file & check the other data - in which; everything appears to be in order.


Recommendations:

Sometimes when flying a tough mission (or whenever I need a better plane for a variety of reasons) in this case to catch something far away; I'll use a specially modified plane which is faster & more heavily armed than the stock unit.

My personal favorite is the "Super A6M5 Zero". It will do 500+ kts., turns on a dime (and gives 9 cents change) plus fires 1000lb flak shells like "laser beams"

Here we are.....getting this stuff straight for once and for all. The reason I keep thinking I'm on a certain mission is in my campaign screen it tells me I've flown 'x' number of missions......duh! I guess it would be too great a leap of logic to think then that I'm now flying the next one. Hidden goals make a difference, of course, and if I don't know what or where they are, then LOGIC tells me I'm on the next mission.

I fixed my enemy mosquitos problem pretty much by myself, albeit with a finger pointed in the right direction by a couple of guys. Great to point the finger, fellas, but a word or two about where to look would be a big help.

I will no longer comment on this stuff. I don't do it to be a pain in the arse.....I do it because I want to learn, and if that's too much trouble for some guys, so be it! We all have to/had to learn, right?
