RTW 2015 Practice 1

Hate it when that happens...

Have baton, WAMM - WASS, FSND 727 (a.k.a "Seattle Three-Holer")

Good thing you flew wing, Milton. FS says I crashed on landing, so I guess I did. Not sure what happened. All was going swell.

Rules require that I land after you I think so you could hand off to me so this would not be a legal flight, right?

I think it's ok if the wing lands first. But I do have to officially declare the wingman transfer. According to last year's rules, this can be done retroactively (or at least retrospectively...) So, I officially conjure the Wing Transfer Rule, upon the occasion of my crash. :untroubled:

I have the baton, WASS to WAKK, A2A P-51H.

At 719nm it's slightly over the 700nm, but there's nothing else on the south coast of Indonesia just short of 700nm.

And since all my flights in this part of the world seem to be in the pitch dark, I'm pleased it's got a lit runway!

No worries on that Spook, per the rules "There is an absolute distance limit of 750 nautical miles for each leg.", not 700nm.

True, for last year's race. But we set "ground rules" for each practice, among them, in this case, the 700 nm limit, with the "exception" that Martin made use of, correctly (see post #1). In past years we would limit legs to 350 nm during practice sessions, to ensure more people got to fly. That was when we had a lot of pilots...

Have baton, WAKK - YBAM, DeHavilland Sea Hornet Mk 21, FSX, Robert Richardson with SOH air file.

FS decided to stop functioning. That hasn't happened in a long time. Baton back at WAKK.

Bad luck. I've also had a few complete FSX lock-ups in the last couple of months, when previously my PC had run FSX absolutely faultlessly. Strange.

Flew it again. Smooth as silk the second time. Here's what 7 knots of wind blowing directly across the runway from the left looks like on final. That's cool. :)

Runway 26 recommended due to terrain clearance issues... Being daytime, it may not be much of a factor. but...

Hmm...the guys over at Pan Am said runway 8 before we left. Must be a trippe, I mean trap...
