Russian Airliners?

Next SamDim creation

Well, if they have something better to do, they have something better to do...

You're right, it looks like SamDim is working hard on a Bombardier Q400. Very very nice indeed... but canadian, not russian... Wrong thread I know... Anyway same bloody awful weather in both countries... Snow is expected here this weekend... temperature already dropping below zero at night...

View attachment 49298 View attachment 49299

I guess the VC is intended for a payware version. Let's hope the external model could be released as a freeware, then we'll be able to attach the default Bombardier CRJ 700 VC. More pics here: http://samdimdesign.free.fr/

This is certainly not a russian airliner, but it's a FSX native, classic soviet-era aircraft. So maybe this fits more or less in this thread... The famous Kamov trademark, the contra-rotative double-rotor, is wonderfully designed and animated.

Anybody knows why most (if not all) soviet aircrafts have their cockpit painted in this light blue color? Less reflection in daytime? More visibility at night? Too much blue paint laying around at the factory?

US Navy repaint & 2D wide panel tweaked by me...

While I didn't opt for the Ka-27/32 pictured here (don't care for the look of the VC), I do have the same organization's Ka-50 "Black Shark". It's a pretty nice addon!

Regarding the cockpit colors, you'll see light blue, greens, and blacks in various cockpits.
About the blues and greens, it is my understanding that research was done that concluded that those colors were psychologically helpful (soothing, relaxing, etc). I've also heard that the colors are cheaper to produce/use.

Also remember that some Douglas DC-9 aircraft employed green(ish) cockpits as well. A few examples:

Right, the SCS An-124 has a black background...

There is an Antonov An-28 for FSX in the works somewhere... A Czech developper? Anybody has more informations?

Aeroflot B777 & Ilyushin Il-18

A true FSX native but not a real Russian Airliner... Freeware Project Open Sky's Boeing 777 with Tom Collins, Kyle Schurb and Dhruv Kalra Aeroflot repaint (tkd_afl_b772v11.zip at avsim). VC swap with payware Captain Sim Boeing 757 (here the free demo version, with missing gauge and dead yokes). This is just for fun and to keep this thread going...

A true Russian Airliner but not a real FSX native: Kirill Konovalov Ilyushin Il-18. The most beautiful VC and cabin - ever.

Kirill Konovalov Ilyushin Il-38

Wonderful Kirill Konovalov Ilyushin Il-38 for FS9, works ok in FSX if you discard some tricky gauge files (Il-38.gau shuts down all engines, don't know how to restart them... can't read russian manual...).

Well I hope a new thread will open soon: "My favorite FS9 aircrafts ported-over to FSX". 'Cause this Il-38 is not a russian airliner, nor FSX native... but definitively a favorite!

FSX native Tupolev Tu-204/214

This is old news but I think Kirill Konovalov is working on a FSX native Tupolev Tu-204/214... Can't wait for this one!
Here is the old FS9 Gmax version by [SIZE=-1]Robert Versluys:

The Tu-204 is similar to the Boeing 757 and with russian made glass cockpit. Some picture found in the in avsim russian forum:

It think there is a FS9 model with VC, but I'm not sure how well it ports over, or, if at all.

Another FSX ported-over Tu-154M

Another "FSX compatible" Tu-154M appeared recently at avsimrus (41246-Tu-154M-dlya-FSX.zip). It is based on the Vitamin FS9 version, with no VC. Exterior model unchanged but it's the most beautiful one. The 2D panel is made of very good looking photoreal bitmaps, the systems look a little bit simplified but work alright as far as I can say, and I was able to power up most circuits and take off with no trouble at all! Let's say it's a "lite" version of the usually hardcore most famous Tupolev....

Repaints are plentyful... Credits go to Alexis (aka Vitamin), Andrey Karuna, serg09, Captain Uldemir, and Dmitriy Danilov.

I wish some courageous developer would convert to FSX native this wonderful exterior model... I'm sure, if asked politely, the source files could be traced and authorization given...

I know it was mentioned above - no one seemed to acknowledge it - but this is a Russian airliner that is quite special and though a portover works fine in FSX and has a tremendous VC interior that you can take an unusual walk through (tip: first go under the panel to navigator station and look out the glass nose!). Don't be put off by the spinning blades outside the engine - this beauty was nearly as fast a some jets and had tremendous range as well.

There is the MOSS AWACS version as well, if you like military tubes. Very nice. On the IL-38, I'm boned on starting the damned thing, and the manual-poof!- in russian. Which gauges did you take out to get the thing running? There are a number of 'em pre-fixed 'IL-38' gauge.

Which gauges did you take out to get the thing running?

I've moved the Il-38.gau file to a "disabled-gauges" folder out of the Il-38 panel folder (check also in your main gauges folder). No need to udapte the panel.cfg file if you proceed like this...

Half the time with these, if you have to remove critical gauges, it's not worth it because you can't operate the plane correctly, or critical flight info will not be available.

Speaking in terms of the actual native releases, the following:

1. Does anyone have a startup guide for Konovalov's native Il-86. Not sure that many systems are even simulated with this one, but I'm not up to speed on Ilyushin logic, so I don't know.

2. Have there been any more Russian liveries released for Conrad's An-32?

3. Is there complete gauge functionality in the FSX port of the Tu-114? Also, any prop and cloud visibility issues that usually occur in ports?

From iPhone so I apologize for formatting issues.

I wish some courageous developer would convert to FSX native this wonderful exterior model... I'm sure, if asked politely, the source files could be traced and authorization given...

I think the 154 is under construction for FSX. Mr. Konovalov wrote at the russian Avsim: "Will you Tu-154 for FSX, normal, with all the meat will be ... It remains something a little bit to finish." (Automatic translation, sorry.)

I think the 154 is under construction for FSX by Mr. Konovalov...

Wonderful news!

While waiting for this version, I'm still looking for the FS9 Vitamin Tu-154M with VC. I already have the Project Tupolev versions, both with VC, but the Vitamin version with VC is hard to find, and it's been said it works better when ported over to FSX... It sure looks good! Anybody knows where the file is? I've found at avsimrus the textures intended for the VC, but not the corresponding MDL file.... Help!

Vitamin Tu-154M with VC and FSX gauges

Is this it?

Yes this is the one! Thanks! So now I'm going to merge the Vitamin Tu-154M virtual cockpit (23722-154-vit.zip) with the FSX gauges I've found earlier (41246-Tu-154M-dlya-FSX.zip).

This is going to be a long and painful process, but after a few minutes I was able to locate the ADI and some engine gauges! More news this weekend.... If somebody suffers from insomnia, and has no girlfriend or wife asking to clean-up the dead leaves in the garden, roof, or similar autumn chores, please give it a try! I might need to take a day off to do this.... But this is going to be quite a nice Tu-154M FSX portover... while waiting for the real thing...

After half an hour.... less holes....
