SC Designs F5E just released

This is a buy for me! Pricing is good. Features look to be outstanding. It even has the nose gear extension for take off.

I bought it immediately. The one by Venom is going immediately to the boneyard.

Where? I cannot find any texture files even, yet it's in my MSFS. All I find are three text files in the Content Manager. Where am I lost?

Look for a justflight F-5 folder in your community folder.

Cheers,

Priller

To be honest, the textures of the model itself (except for the VC) are just horrible.

If you purchased via the marketplace the folder will not be in the community folder but the main folder.

Purchased from Just Flight. Marketplace model will not have weapons. I downloaded the Manual from the separate link.

Bought from just flight, got everything I expected including textures and manual (except can't find a paintkit)
My installed files are in D:\MSFS\Community\justflight-aircraft-f5e
Normally DCD stuff is in a dcd folder, eg dcdesigns-aircraft-f4

Wasn't going to buy it without seeing a few reviews...but the Discord channel had a warning that the roll-rate (720 deg/sec) could cause nausea to VR users so I had to try it.
No problems and the roll-rate is impressive:)

Cockpit is very nice inside, probably best DC cockpit so far, particularly in subdued weather.
In bright sunlight all goes very reflective :(
Also quite a few bugs in the cockpit, has anybody been able to turn the gunsight brightness down?

I went for it. Very disappointed that the HGU-33 default helmet provided is wrong for all current user forces and we can't use the Asobo HGU-55.

This a shot I took at Fallon before VFC-13 "The Saints" converted to the F-16 but is a good illustration of the white HGU-55 helmet used with this jet by US Navy and US Marine Corps units.

I believe the Swiss guys use the grey (USAF) version of the HGU-55

Well I found everything but a paint kit. There is a texture folder named common textures, perhaps that is it? There are two folders in my Community Folder for the F-5E, one is the one I showed, under DC Design, but the other is justflight-aircraft-f5e and that is the one with all the information. Still no PSD Paint Kit or Blender Paint Kit.

The product page on justflight.com says a paint kit is included.

However, I can confirm after poking through both the extraneous scdesigns-aircraft-f5e folder and the actual justflight-aircraft-f5e folder, my installation contains no paint kit.

We need to get Jankees and TiAir their paint kits!

Bought it about half an hour after released but had the chance for a test ride just a few minutes ago. It's way better than Deimos and Venom iterations, feels way better (heavier) and flies exact like I'd expect it from my several visits in Meiringen, at least regarding take-off and recovery.
Now it's time for the painters, we need swiss liveries! :jump:

From the screenshots (don't have it myself) it looks like Dean used the 1960's USAF HGU-2A/P(or 80's 26/P) flight helmet from his F-4 Phantom crew for his F-5E TigerII pilot( HGU-33 is the Navy/Marines variant) while it should've been the still current grey USAF HGU-55/P with MBU-20/P O2 mask that his F-15 and F-16 pilots are wearing. Maybe if asked nicely he will exchange them in a quick fix. ;)

No buy for me, only interested in F-5A and -B (NF-5A/B to be exact)
