Not aware of the Red Wing offering. That looks quite good but doubt any compatibility. The difference is the switchable era's of space flight and the crawler transporter. I'd like to see them add people and the NASA astronaut RV that Red Wing offers.
I just looked on Redwing Simulations website. No mention of that scenery. NC

I did find this:

Great shot, dvj and thanks for the tip ! :encouragement:

Artemis/Orion, right ? Would've loved it if they'd gone back in time a bit when it was still called Cape Canaveral with the Atlas booster and Mercury capsule. Immerse myself in nostalgic feelings going back to the ol' 60's building the 1/110 scale Revell model with launch pad and all ! ;-)

Growing at the Cape in the late 50s & 60s, that was one of my favorite model kits back then. The other favorites ones I remember from that, were the Revell Bomarc & Snark kits. I think I remember a Revell Mercury Redstone kits also???

Boom!! This piccie of the Snark releases quite a wealth of nostalgia ! ;-) As a more or less still ignorant youngster i bought plastic models of anything with wings. Don't even think i knew anything about its purpose. It had wings so it could fly. That was the critirium. Hehe. Also the name "Snark" appealed to me very much (i'm from the Netherlands, during the 50's/60's primary school didn't teach English yet). We have an almost similar word "Snerk" (dialect) playful for a sneaky person. And lately i became aware of a wonderful instrumental American band called 'Snarky Puppy'. And i guess 'Shark' must also have something to do with it. It looks a bit like a shark doesn't it.

Anyway, i remember that Snark model very well ! All my plastic models from that era are gone of course so it's always nice to see a piccy of it. I never heard of the Revell Mercury Redstone rocket but i *do* very much remember the Mercury and Gemini space capsules ! Nice big models of which the Mercury model had internal details as well (maybe even the astronaut models....) if i remember correctly. Would've loved it if particularly that Mercury model (maybe 1/12) would've survived all the movings.... ;-)

(we'd better box that up now, severly OT, sorry.. :sneaky: )

That was another one I built at least once. I was big into any model that had to do with missiles and the space program.

I still have these hard-to-find Topping models. My father was a Titan launch officer and these were his office models.

He also brought home concept models of the future space shuttle program that he let me play with. I have no idea whatever happened to them. I had forgotten about them until I visited the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum back in the 70's and there was a display case that had those same concept models in it. They look nothing at all like the space shuttle we ended up with.
