Noddy, I must say there are a bunch of talented people here that post the great images. You are definitely one of those. When I see your handle, I jump on the thread to see what beautiful images you have produced. Thanks for being one of the best.
Here here, I was afraid to start naming them for fear of missing someone. Thanks to all for taking the time to create the wonderful pictures we are priveleged to see and enjoy.
Nice one, Noddy! (exquisitely painted by Jan-Kees i presume ? )
I always thought of the G-91 as the younger, somewhat less spectacular looking, little sister of the F-86D/K Sabre. The dutch AF flew the F-86K (Kaasjager) and somehow never bothered to paint it. The P-212 specifically was a dutch AF camouflaged F-84F that, apart from the camo, doesn't resemble the G-91 very much of course (still a great looking repaint ! ;-)
With the G-91 stripped from any paint, the bare metal polished up just a bit, and the camera nose painted matt black with a very dark, olive green anti-glare panel behind it, an amateur aircraft spotter will (mis)take it for a dutch AF F-86K Sabre anytime. Q-305 in big, black letters right underneath the anti-glare panel will complete the illusion.
(just thinking outloud (what do you think, Jan-Kees ?.. ))
