I think flying it in the virtual world is bad enough, but in the real world no way!

Cracking shot though.

Some people remember...

... THE SLIVERS?
The Slivers were the Belgian Air Force's demonstration team.
From 1969 to 1975, Capt. Steve Nuyts and Adj. Palmer De Vlieger represented Belgium at air shows in Europe.
Their show consisted of aerobatic maneuvers at low-level with the F-104G.
The synchronization of the sequences and especially the face-to-face passages were the highlight of the show.

Each pilot did not have his own plane.
They used airplanes available within the 350th squadron of which they were part.
During the first shows the planes had no particular livery.

In 1971, with their growing notoriety, they adopted a personalized decoration.
Air-intakes received a red disc on which appeared two F-104s head to tail as a reminder of the decoration of their helmets.
Decoration completed by wingtip launchers painted in red with the inscription "Slivers" in white.
The red disc was dropped as the color tended to come off with the speed effect.
It was replaced in 1973 by a sober inscription "Slivers".
The planes used during the shows were generally equipped with a brake parachute in the Belgian national colours.

Here a paint job project in progress.

How is this plane? Is it worth getting? Can you tune and navigate using VOR or anything?

Sorry, just seen your post.

Yes, it is very well modelled per Dino's other models and worth getting. In respect your other question, I am more of a jump in fly guy but in the info it does advise:

  • Detailed external and virtual cockpit models, with high resolution textures and PBR effects.
  • High detail texture sets, based on real aicrafts, for Italian Air Force, Polish Air Force, Singapore Air Force, Israeli Air Force and T-100 program.
  • Realistic HUD, MFD and UFCP aircraft interface based on real world flight manual.
  • Realistic and detailed procedures based on real world flight manual.
  • Flight model with realistic performance and handling based on publicly available data.

Other owners may be of more use.

Ryan,

My experience with Dino's aircraft is that they are great little get up and go machines and the M346 is no exception. He does a very good job with graphics and textures and models aircraft systems well. Dino also is tops for CIP...continuous improvement program. He keeps his aircraft up to date.

I took a look at the manual and it demonstrates use of the VOR. So, I assume the VOR is usable (but I haven't used it myself). I'm a point-to-point GPS guy. You won't be unhappy with this aircraft if you acquire it.

Hope this helps.
