  • Special Server Maintenance

Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Great to have a corner where flingwings are not regarded as alien things!

Of course one will have lots of pictures to share, and here's my first contribution (of a moving picture.)
This one has a great addon soundset (R66 Sound Immersion NG for Cowansim) which often surprises with its detail.

Thank you for stopping by, Priller!
Here are some rescue mission shots of the HPG H145 in MSFS 2020, surely one of the most competent helos in flightsimming.

Aerosoft has an MSFS 2020 package which populates the North Sea with literally hundreds of landable platforms on ships and rigs.

The H145 is well equipped to service these, might take some time to discover the best locations, here's a sample from Latitude 66N

Nice... interesting to see an AS350, you'd be expecting them to fly Bell 206 or maybe 407?

Twenty plus years ago: UVA's PEGASUS drops off a patient at the hospital ER pad and returns to home base at Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport (KCHO). Today, there is an eight-story addition with two rooftop pads where the old pad used to be, with the ER occupying the bottom floor.

Hamilton Island off the east coast of Australia is a playground for well-heeled visitors from nearby Queensland and beyond.

A helicopter is the best way to escape the cruise ships and buzzy holiday scene, out to the great Barrier Reef. You can also break the journey at picturesque spots en route.

And out on the reef there are suitable helistops where you can enjoy a private explore and relax, or go full on to the glass-bottom boats and submarine adventure.

You can spend time with Miltech's CH47D... great model.
Here we are moving Stuff around.
This requires you to fly directly over the chosen object at a specified height, and hover there for four seconds.
Then the slings will attach.
Sounds easy, right?
You should not be hasty or anxious about this, it will become ever harder then.

Back in Australia... the Sydney - Hobart Regatta is about to get underway.
How to get front-row seats for me and 7 mates?
Well, the Bell 429 handily fits the bill.

Departing Sydney's YSSY we will head over the city to where the action is

Organisers and CASA will not let us fly over the course, but now for the trump card: being members of the Sydney Seaplanes organisation, we get to park on their lawn.
Beers are on the house and we settle on the deck as the flotilla assembles.
Soon they will scramble to be first around The Heads and on their way.

Next stop: New York.
