Serious Italian 1940 Metal

And So, It is ...

With the bulk of the work done on all WIP projects, I decided to get the tough part of the startup done on this one. Now as I have time, I can "piddle" with it. :)

Now, back to the "Republic Experimentals".

Hi,

Stefano Meneghini and Manuele Villa produced the wonderful FIAT G 12 and G 18 and G 18v which come with invaluable info about flying and navigating in an earlier World of Flight. I have hoped in vain for a FIAT G212 as well...greedy I know, but this new Trimotor will serve just as well!. It'll be a beauty.
Thank you, Milton.

Andy.

Hello Milton,
It's great to see another Zappata design in the works by one of the Masters.
Manuele's CANT Z.506 is one of the most beautiful trimoters in the sim, but
no VC (cry).

I agree. And I hope that Manuele has the time to collaborate with me on this project. He has been very industrious with his works and extremely helpful in getting this one off the ground. :applause:

Andy, I have been so busy I have failed to keep up with these releases. I will have to check them out. I agree that the Italian works of art need attention and I am happy to work on this one. Thanks

As am I! I would dearly love to eventually see a Piaggio P.108B in both of it's variants, front turret and no front turret. A friend here was working on this and the project was quite advanced the last time I saw it. Alas, the last time I spoke with this gentleman, he had permanently shelved the project as his interest in flight simming had given up the ghost. He offered me the source, but at the time I was and still am involved in my own project, the FIAT G.59 series. On that I'd say I'm about 60% of the way there.

With all the Italian masterpieces that have been released in the last couple of years, I'm thinking of doing a "Flight Sim 1931-45, The Italian Sector". Does anyone know of any WWII scenery for Italy, North Africa, etc.?

Hi,

Milton, you already have a full evening's work ahead of you doing all these other projects; I wasn't begging for the 212 to be done as well!! :salute: a huge salute to you and the team who produce these wonders.

Andy.

Gone fishin'!

Alfa Romeo 125

Alfa Romeo built/designed several aircraft engines based on Bristol Jupiter and Pegasus designs. These engines were named as 125, 126, 128, 129 and 131. The 126-RC34 was derived from Bristol Pegasus and 126-RC35 from Jupiter 9-cylinder radial design. All these engines were mainly fitted to Italian bombers in World War II. Between 1934 and 1944 Alfa Romeo built around 11,000 units.

Alfa Romeo 126 RC.34

Specifications

  • Power output: 507-582 kW (680-780 hp)

Uh-hum...I'm hooked!...piece o' cake! :wiggle:

ooooh nice! looking forwards to this! will be right back to work where i can assist in a while Milton... got a few months of regular doctors check-ups ahead, Harpoon is Currently Priority 1 (Seeing as there's nothing for the moment to do on the PC-21) :salute:

Making some headway with lots of time to get the windshield and side windows, lower bomber windows, and engine areas right.

Much left to do on that cockpit windows/windscreen area right. I have been around that area 100's of times trying to rectify differences between the top and side views and the pictures I have. Very painstaking work but will be worth it in the end.

The intricate work around all these windows is time consuming. Very important to get all the posts and framework precisely the same width and clean up after it's done. It will require alot more yet to get the top and front windows done.

Well, if anyone could do a precise job on that sort of thing, it's you... Milton. Your work speaks for itself :guinness:. By the way, once the CANT.Z project comes full circle, I plan to take my copy and tour Europe with it. No need to rent a flat, or a room at a hotel, I'll just live inside that monster of an airplane until the tour is over... :salute:

lovely work Milton! makes me want to jump back into my Meteor work, despite the doc telling me to not do anything that could trigger eye-strain :icon_lol:

really looking forwards to this thing! she's a beauty! :jump:

Ahhh, got the basic frame structure completed. Now for some cleanup before adding the windows back in and freeing up the hatches, all 4 of them. :)

ooooh! looking really nice now! fantastic work... really shows the beauty of that 'Aviation Art Deco' period.... :salute:

Progress continues on the really painstaking parts. I intend to complete the fuselage before moving on to the wings and tails.
