Going to try to take off in a Cessna 172 from El Alto International in La Paz, Bolivia. Any suggestions?

Other than a JATO, what else do you got? Getting airborne is possible in a Cessna 172, 182, and Piper Cub. Staying airborne is another matter. You ever so slowly eek downward.

La Paz is where the aircraft manufacturers do their testing for high altitude operations . Info is probably in their POH.

You should consider leaning the mixture a bit if flying a reciproqual...and plan a departure early morning or evening for cooler temperature.

Overloading the plane or taking anything else than a toothbrush also not a good idea.

IIRC early morning only before sun is up, lean mixture and watch the airspeed, it will likely only just be above stall speed.
