Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

Simworks Studios Van's RV-8 released

Say John, just out of curiosity, have you figured out if all those tiny scratches are baked into the main textures or do they use an overlayed tiled detail texture?
The scratches are all on the green channel of the complete map textures.

A guy name Kevin Horton has a very good RV-8 POH available on-line (I just down loaded it). He is a test pilot in the RW, so his POH is full of great information.

So I went to search for Kevin's POH and I found a pic of his plane... I didn't find the PDF (just a TeX source file, of all the weird things, on Github). But wow, I hope someone does this scheme, the Golden Hawks paint looks awesome on it!

The little RV-8 is also quickly becoming my favourite, neat little plane up for everything. :)

Working on the PH-KLM, the only RV-8 stationed in the Netherlands at the moment.

I received notice of an update to the RV-8 yesterday, but haven't installed it yet. Planning on doing it today. (Using the news as an opportunity to bump the -8 to the top!)

[Edit] I installed the revision and went for a short flight. I could not find a revisions file, so it is unlikely that I've noticed many of the changes. I only flew the 3 blade analog version. The plane is still silky smooth in flight (like the RW model in smooth air). I noticed that the white arch on the airspeed indicator has been extended to 100...good. I still think too much power is needed during the approach and landing, but my new winwing rudder pedals make directional control MUCH easier. (The new rudder pedal are stupendous....just like the other winwing controls I have.)

If anybody knows where I can find a revision list I would appreciate it. Regards .
