So, this is the future

Had a busy day and finally got around to try out MSFS 2024 for the first time only to be met with a message that too many people were currently on the server. Here we go! And the only way to back out from this is ctrl-alt-del out.

It appears to be the future...I installed relatively soon after release this morning, and have tried to launch it about 20 times over the course of the day...No Bueno. Not impressed with the Asobo/MS plan for rollout, to say the least. Hopefully a.) Server usage will calm down a bit after today, and/or b.) They will bring more servers online-- SOON.

Microsoft/Asobo has said that hey were surprised at the "unexpected" number of purchases. Being the cantankerous curmudgeon that I am, I don't believe them. I think they made a decision to limit the number of servers for financial reasons, knowing full well the initial influx would overload the system.

I couldn't agree with you more. It's the M$ way. It's not so much Asobo, but Micro$not. They manage the servers in their data centers.

Zero issues getting in four times today. Loaded right up.

I'm utterly shocked it was underestimated demand rather than a content server somewhere along the line failing. Yikes.

I’ve been awful tempted to pick up FS24, but after reading the launch issues; I think I will let the dust settle a bit and go on enjoying FS20 and X-Plane 12.
