SOH Community, Colorado Help Needed

Ok i sent Steve my contact info, and really i am very willing to go or to send my assistant if there is a rush emergency or to buy the machine from them and send it or the info to whoever it goes to.

My only hang up is weather, there is snow expected this weekend, but after that i expect it will clear rapidly.

those remote connections are indeed a bit tough. I am standing by here, i am about three hours drive time from Grand Junction and will do what i can to help.

Details on why they had difficulty in downlaoding the files (is the CD or DVD drive not working....computer locked with security protection or just not used to working with computers....) will help so i can prepare measures to recover the data. If it is connected to the internet still, i can upload the files to my archive online and then the files can be transferred that way, as well as on DVD CD. I will consult with my tech here once we have more details .....and i can possibly arrange to take a zip drive for the recovery too.

i am a newb here, so i will need to know details on what to look for and who to send it to when we recover it:) I do have and know CFS, CFS2 and CFS3 as well as FS2002, 2004 and FX so i understand the basics of the file structures and so forth. but will need full details. :)

:applause:Chris,

You have email and a PM. Thanks for the help and good luck with this important "mission". Not to put any pressure on you but the future of the MAW update is pretty much riding on you at this point.

Best Regards,

Steve

Aye aye.

MAW is important to me and the communty as a whole. I had family in that one, at sea mostly but have a life long interest in the Afrika campaign and have seen much about Ed's contributions. I will be working on the mission asap and will contact for any needed info.

Thanks Chris, Much appreciated.

Hi Chris,
Just now looked at these posts and realise how important your trip is. Thanks M8. MAW is great, I love flying them there Gladiators, especially on-line when we can. I beleive this will also help Korean Skies, so a lot hanging on your shoulders. Very Much appreciated.

thanks guys, snow dumping currently but am making plans and will keep you all posted. :)

Cris, grazie. Io amo l'Italia e ha vissuto a Venezia anni fa facendo dipinti, come io sono un artista. E 'una bella città e ho speranze di tornare di nuovo un giorno. Grazie per gli auguri.

ps- So, have ya traveled all over the world ta do this stuff??

Lets just buy it

See how much she would want for the machine and lets buy it. I would love those files as I would love to make new theaters so lets talk to the folks and see what we could do.

Ted,

When I receive the DVDs from Chris the distribution will be as follows:

I will make additional copies of the terrain source files for Korea, MAW, and Solomons and mail them to you and Bob.

All of the other source files will be loaded on to our internal FTP for the development of MAW, Solomons and Korea.

The aircraft source files will be used by you, John and Rob.

We will make the MAW source files available to any of the original MAW team who request them. This would include Alx, Mathias, etc.

The password for our internal FTP will be updated shortly to protect these source files.

Grazie Cris, yep those are paintings. yes Popska, I indeed have been fortuante to have travelled a lot and lived in Europe for some years during my training in art school and have been back a number of times for work. Hope to get back to it...had to take some years off for some medical stuff but every day you wake up is a GREAT day :)

i will be talking to Mrs Wilson today and as i said keep you all posted, weather is lively this time of year. :) my delay has been that i am on crutches and a bit slowed down but i have both a trusted assistant and a really good buddy who is a Korea vet and one of us will make it up there once we figure out what is best for the family.

I have always figured that our support for the sim is not only for its own sake but for the history and the preservation of that for all those who were in service on all sides...so this is a matter of honour and respect and a privledge to be able to help you guys out in a small way. More soon.
chris
