SOH Team Project - Grumman Tracker, Trader, Tracer

Hi Milton,

great! From my personel perspective - but that's just me - I like the opening doors (with or without the torpedo or depth charges; I use the torpedo and sonobuoy drop effects by Lazarus). I would also prefer to have the MAD boom animation independent from the radom, as you know, the MAD is more for the low flying closing on the contact only. But again, that's just me. So, if you can modify the model, I would be very greatful, but I don't want to overstress you.

Best regards,

Seawing

Oh, before I forget, I also had a problem launching from the carrier in FSX (in this case off Clemenceau). When activatig the catapult the aircraft started jumping. I could neither launch nor disengage the cat. I went into slewing mode to detach the aircraft from the cat. Also the blast pad and deck crew were not activated. I did not yet try another carrier. Is this a known issue? Did I do something wrong? I checked the aircraft.cfg file, but there the [launch assist] section is present.

[EDIT]
Sorry, seems to have been a singular issue. tried several carriers with several cats today and all worked fine!

Quick thread bump:

Are the FSX Native versions of the Cal Fire Tankers still in the plans? I recently switched over to P3D and would love to get the S-2T's installed again!

Malibu, check over at the FSX forum. Euroastar350 was doing the conversions so you need to check with him on status or if he is planning to do them.

Have you tried the FSX port over versions; they work great on my FSX SP2 Accel version. Made for FSX only.

I haven't actually tried them yet. I'm pretty sure the VC won't be clickable (and maybe some other minor issues) due to the fact that the FSX version doesn't have a separate model for the VC. My experience has been that the VCs aren't clickable in P3D when that's the case.

I'm sure it will be usable in P3D. I was just hoping that the true FSX native conversion is on the horizon somewhere.

Ive learned alot about texturing and such in the past couple years so while i package up some F7F textures to upload here I decided to revisit the S-2A textures I did many years ago and start all over with what Ive learned. Ive made some good progress on them in the last couple days and as I NEVER like clean aircraft this one will be quite dirty like the workhorse it was. Ill be making the CDF- white version and Hemet Valley- green version. Here is what i have so far.

Hmmm yep thats the one I have S2ACDFR for the model. Looks like the counter weight is gray on the model pic you posted or its just my eyes.

No, you are correct. Just checked; the texture assigned was still the non-reflective model's texture.

I changed that and re-exported the model... attached.
