Some DoughBree L-39C repaint thoughts..

WarHorse47

SOH-CM-2024
I know there are tons of real world paint schemes for the L-39 by looking at Airliners.net, but I thought I'd go through my collection and share some of mine.

Where I live there is an L-39 at our local air museum.

Notice the fake sidewinder.

And we have occassional visitors during local air shows..

But what I think would be real interesting are those I've seen at Reno in the jet racing class.

I'm anxious to see if any repainters are willing to take these on.

Cheers

I would absolutely love to see the White and Yellow East German Air Force livery done ...

Mike :salute:

Some one is already playing with it ;)
Confirmed.
Asking myself what I could do for my country (well, actually it wasn't mine, as I lived on the other side of the fenceline...), I'm currently fiddling on some GDR-LSK paints. It may become a triple-feature, consisting of "144" in LSK markings, "28+52" in its unique 1990 transition scheme and a white/yellow target tug.
Thanks to SteveB's support, I have all the stuff I need for these paints.

Cheers,
Markus.

This Russian Albatros looks awesome, Zsolt!

Here is the current status of my East German 144:

Assuming the Warsaw Pact's Air Forces had the same standards on how to paint the L-39's tip tanks, I think my wing tip's yellow area still has to become a little wider.

More to follow...

Cheers,
Markus.

Nice one Markus, as for the yellow on the wings I agree it does need to go a little wider.
Zsolt nice work on the Russian.

Zsolt, your Lithuanian livery is awesome - Thank You! Markus, that DDR work in progress repaint is incredible. Keep up the great work with the repaints Gentlemen - So many of us appreciate your hard work.

Cheers! Mike :ernae:

I have a repaint request for zsoltquack.

Your repaints are phenomenal, and I was wondering if you might considering painting this L-39 for me. It is owned by a friend who shares a hangar with me in real life, and is quite possibly the most beautifully detailed paint job I have ever seen on an Albatross.

For those who are wondering, this is the Royal Thai Air Force, and I believe his aircraft is the only civilian L-39 flying in these colors.
