I'm a lousy photographer and I can't compete with the magnificent shots Ferry posted, but here are some pics I took on Friday at Volkel AFB. Unfortunately, the layout of Volkel means it is a real PITA when it comes to taking good photographs
. As my friends and I arrived relatively late and because they only came along out of curiosity, they weren't inclined to walk the length of the runway to the "active threshold" like I wanted to
. So I got stuck in front of the Patrulla Aguila and took a lot of shots of them starting up. I'll think I'll make a separate thread about that after I've sorted out the pictures.
Sorry for the long rant, but here are the pics I think came out quite good if I may say so (though probably more through good luck instead of wisdom:redf
. No editing except resizing.
Turkish Star (ex RNLAF NF-5A).
RNLAF CH-47 Chinook during the "Air Power Demo". Note the Falcons in the background flying cover.
And finally the Red Arrows. Probably my favourite shot I took that day. It looks rather impressive full size.
