Somethngs wrong with my F8-F

I thought this thing was deloused, so I bought it only to find the mag switch wont work, no fuel gage function, no cockpit lighting and the CHT stay in the red all the time. And It does not fly like any plane I have ever flown, is a bearcat supposed to handle like this? well for $14 it's still the best graphics Ive ever seen. I would trade eye candy trade some for a little functionality. BTW ther P-36 works great..what happined to this one? I bought the latest version on 11/19.

You are right. This one has problems. Thought they would have it figured out by now. There's still hope.

Even post patch, (which has cleared A LOT of the issues so fair dues and hats off to Dean and VS for getting that out), I still have many issues with the flight modelling and ground handling that the F8-F has been consigned to the hard drive hangar.

I found it really difficult to taxi from a full stop, since the rudder's ground effectiveness is almost zero. There is quite an interesting article, on avweb I believe, that indicates how the F8-F is to fly, including ground handling characteristics and so on.

I will not compare it to any other aircraft, but try to remain true to type and comment only on subjective differences from that described in the avweb article or various YouTube offerings. I find the engine start to be too long before it fires, blipping and smoking for ages. The smoke effect sends the FPS into single figures as well...

A beautiful model, well designed VC, but I personally feel it is let down by the FDE.

Did you assign the correct rudder handling in the aircraft config?

I cant get the wing mounted weapons to appear. I am using the configuration tools. I can get the center tank to load. The pylons are in place but no weapons will configure. Any suggestions? I am sure it is something stupid I am or am not doing.

Just a thought; why not ask these questions over at the Vertigo website. Customer service over there is really good and you are likely to get an answer straight away.

Will gladly do so, but the thread seemed to be pretty active and I thought my questions were pretty close to topic.

Another thought would be why did they not fix and test all this before they released it?

I always ask myself that question whenever I do something that is less than perfect....just part of being human I guess.
Not perfection..just fixed right by imperfected humans. So we can say "it's not perfect" but as close as we can come.

You know, with all due respect, I've had this conversation with others before and a public forum is the worst place to take anyone to task.

I believe if you have a gripe about something or someone you should take it directly to them, not engage in sniping from afar.

And now I'll zip it.

Well I hope you get your commission check soon from Vertigo. :salute:

I'd been on the fence about purchasing, but not if that paint will be available.
Ordering the Bearcat this week as soon as I find some cash. Already bought a Valentines gift for my wife, so can't use that money...
