Sometimes FS makes you go wow....

Caz, I am under the impression you had uploaded your shiny F-107A skin here (SOH) but I cannot find it. :isadizzy:

Caz's skin for the 107 is in the Warbird's Archive. I will attempt a link to the page...sometimes they don't work:

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/page.php?lloc=downloads&loc=downloads&page=info&FileID=13369

IF it doesn't work, go to the Warbird's Archive, do a search for Cazzie using the Author box, I think it is on page 2, 3 or 4.

So this WOW is less about the sim, than what the sim showed, on a flight to Geneva.
Shaking down the Aeroworx B200 after some mods, I overflew Zurich and thought I'd look at some of the AI parked there.
I was struck by the amount of expensive private iron, mostly Gulfstream.
When I landed at Geneva , there were plenty more!

In all, I counted the thick end of a Billion dollars.
Could it possibly be, that such visible wealth stands around on a couple of Swiss airports?

Well, this post definitely lives up to the thread name in my opinion. My first thought on seeing the screen shots was in fact "wow". Very good screenies.

Markus that Zurich scenery is AWESOME thanks for the H/U! I love that Aeroworx B-200. Definitely a must have in FS9

Thank you awj...
Yup Markus that is FreeZ in the first pic, the second is Dreamfactory's Geneva.
Zurich is stunning, but a real frame hog - you can see in the demo clip they don't even run shadows! I've taken to using the lite version, as the full install stutters if I have max weather...the only airport to do so in my sim.
It's a treat for screenshots though.

Torsten, the usual high standard fom you sir! Here are 2 of my beloved Mirage 2000-5 ...

Cheers! Mike :salute:

Took my first real winter flight. Not a long one...just from Mansfield Lahm to Akron-Canton. Nav showed it to be a 32 minute flight. ATC turned it into a 45 minute flight. Real weather using FSMetars. Snapper running to capture shots. And my TrackIR5 in service to help me spot air traffic and to look around.

Talk about flying into the soup!

Welllllll.....seems I can't upload the screen shots right now. Will have to try again later.

About 12 minutes out from Akron Canton, ATC calls me with a traffic advisory. A Beech Baron 58, 5000 feet, 9 o-clock. I turned my head to the left and look out my left window...and out there a ways is a Beech Baron 58. I confirm the visual. I jump out of the VC to spot view and looking at Brian Gladden's Piper Tri-Pacer from the outside....such a lovely little plane. Suddenly, the Beech Baron 58 goes zooming right under my Piper. I'm at 5015 and it is at 4999. Only 16 feet between us! And he flew right under me! I almost had a mid-air collision. A Near Hit! Not to be confused with a Near Miss!

Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero over Okinawa

Just took the overhauled CFS2 Zero for a flight over Okinawa. The plane looks surprisingly good in FS9 and with some tweaks here and there flies just as well. And since this plane is super duper frame rate friendly, I did not even get a micro-stutter as I was rubber necking to gawk at the scenery below my wings.

Tim

PS: I really need to get myself in working order and finish the tweaks to the CFS2 planes and get them uploaded. The Zero, F6F, George and P-39 are simply the best examples of their type in terms of freeware. The P-38 isn't bad.

There are not only FPS-friendly, but their textures are extremely nice and in FS9, their virtual cockpits become clickable (which is not the case in CFS2).
I loved that Zero in FS9. I also loved the Corsair and the Hellcat. The Wildcat and P-38 were nice as well. In the end, all of the default CFS2 planes were transfered into my FS9 hangar and I was flying them very often :jump:
