An Argentine Fw-44 repaint for A. F. Scrub's Stieglitz just sent up to SOH for your pleasure.

I tried to make a silver paint finish, but any Alpha would render transparency, so I had to ques-ta-mate something that looked good without Alpha.

Here's a modified MDL file for the FW44....I added reflective texture capability. Now you can add a low level alpha and give the plane a real silver finish. I read A. F.'s read me and it clearly stated that the plane could be modified...so I modified it. Just upload this tweaked model folder with any paints that you do with reflective finishes.

I can also use both model files by coding the aircraft.cfg for the Argentine version to model.r. Many thanks, here's what I have so far.

Right now I have the REX-2004 env.bmp and personally, no offense to Tim and Co., I do not like it. I am going back and putting B'Bob's env.bmp back, which is what I used previously. Only my system can take it in FS9, so I kick it up a notch, resizing his to 512 X 512 and saving in 888-8 32-bit with no alpha.

I don't think I have ever heard that expression before...it is quite powerful.

Glad the reflective MDL gave you what you needed to do the skin justice....took all of 2 minutes to make the MDL reflective. Very simple process...need to find that tute JDTinballs sent me and get it uploaded to the library.

Have a Merry Christmas. I am :isadizzy: already and want to watch some football, but I still have at least two hours of chores and running to do to prepare for tomorrow, because my wife is at the hospital with her mother.

Thanks OBIO,

Things could have been worse. She was operated on yesterday at 11:00 and came out of recovery around 6:00. The goods news is they cleared the blockage and removed and treated any infection and sewed her back. She will not require a colostomy bag, thanks be to God. But she must be on a very soft diet for two months.

I hope they keep her in the hospital a week. She's a tough, old country girl and that's the only way we're going to get her to rest! The minute she is on her feet, she is going to be up and running, helping one of her sisters or taking care of some grand child's need. God didn't gift her with much brain, but he made up for it when he gave her a heart.

The expression comes from the earlier part of the 20th century. I think it comes from Meccano or Hornby railways toys or such like. They had two box sizes, Box Standard (which, BTW, is where Bog standard comes from :d) and Box Deluxe (Say it fast enough and it almost becomes Dogs Bollox (derivatives are various, Mutts Nuts, etc.))

Good news...I found the tute on adding reflective textures. I will do some tweaking to the text portion of the plane just to clarify a couple spots...once done with that I will shoot a copy of it to JDTinballs for his approval, then one of us will upload it to the library for all to use.
