The Mk. XVI is a Mk. IX with a Merlin 266 built by Packard under license. :ernae:
Piece of cake for me - I'm an Air Vice Marshal, as you can see:
Edit:
Dangit - this Scottishman was faster than me...
"I have pilots here that are still thinking they are turning left and right, they have no idea what port and starboard are. There are pilots who think that the radio is for idle chit-chat, they have no radio knowledge at all. Fourteen to twenty hours in a Spit and they are given their wings.....it's downright ridiculous".
Cees,
it's indeed Robert Sanderson's Mk. IIa.
Intended to become AVM Keith Park's (GCB, KBE, MC and Bar, DFC, DCL RAF, commander of 11th FG during the Battle of Britain, as you all probably know...) personal 'OK 1'.
Early WIP state, halted until my four Lufthansa Convairs are done.
I'm still not too happy with the colours: Although the RGB values were taken from simmerspaintshop, they seem a little too 'flat' for me...
For educational purposes, one of Park's bonmots:
I'll be downloading it the moment it becomes available!

Taking off from the Supermarine factory in Southampton,....
Will his flight-suit be included in the repaint?
Add me to the list, great stuff. Will his flight-suit be included in the repaint?
Don't worry about the Hurri's, love them almost as much as the Spit, I find it difficult to have a favourite, it more depends on my mood, sometimes it's the Mossie, Big Beau, Tiffie, Lizzie, Stringbag, etc. And that's just the native stuff, it gets :isadizzy: trying to choose. Probably my fav US fighter would be the Kittyhawks, but I do love those big Jugs too. Such a veritable smorgasbord, isn't it great!!

Willy,
if you don't mind me asking, what scenery do you use for this? Hoping I've missed one somewhere.
