Time for my favorite Spits... the Griffon powered ones!
This is a Mk XII by Paul Rebuffat. It was the first Spitfire to be powered by a RR Griffon engine and was a clipped wing low altitude fighter. Only about 100 were made.
I took off from Pardubice, Czechoslovakia and flew down to Bolzano, Italy in the Italian Alps.
WRT to the earlier comments about alpha textures and seeing through bullet holes, yall aint seen nothing yet .
On the freeware Alphasim MK IX, what is the pod/housing under the belly that only appears when you turn on the lights? Whatever it's for it seems strange to have it appear with the light switch.
the slipper fuel tank, comes in two main sizes, 45 and 90 IIRC. Why the light switch? no idea. It maybe a specific, not much used light, for vintage plane, strobe maybe?
Here's my favorite Spitfire. The Aeroplane Heaven Mk XIX. I really don't fly it enough though. But as RTW season is rolling around again, I'll rectify that. Flew this flight from Bolzano to Rome and once I was on the ground I had to take a couple of screenshots with some visiting beauties....
