Spookster's Cape-to-Cape - better late than never...

Making great time Martin ... rollin' along nicely!

I really like that panel ... brilliant.

Thanks Salt. Yes, that panel has everything I need, and nothing more. I made it for the LM 2009, and it's perfect for this event too.

Oops, just spotted another rules issue - I should be back on dead-reckoning again for this Congo section, but I mistakenly used NDBs for the last leg FZAB to FZGA. Less haste, more speed!

I'll go back to FZAB and re-fly it by dead reckoning.

A quick response from Miss Nellie, only after a bemused smile. "Goodness gracious! Happily, the young man caught his error right away. He is doing the right thing."

An hour into the flight, and I've had nice tailwinds at 7,000 feet so far. Just approaching the border with Uganda, and I can see the tall peaks of the Ruwenzori Mountains ahead. On checking the map, I've noticed that these are actually a lot higher than I really want to fly, so I'm diverting slightly to the south, to pass Lake Edward and over Lake George, before continuing east to Lake Victoria.

It's nice to fly down here and explore the mountainous African terrain - something new to me. :)
