For those who want to start the Li-2 from the original downloads with their original Russian panels: that will be possible when you skip some gauges in the panel-cfg’s.
First I would suggest that you replace the Li2 air.-file with the original Microsoft DC-3 air.-file
For the download 74069-Li-2:
A: open up the panel-cfg with wordpad or notepad
B: remove from render_3d_window= the number, so it says render_3d_window=
C: remove from [Window00] the gauge numbers 16, 18, 30 and 31, so you have gauge=LI-2_XML!Li2Sw_Fuellogic, gauge=LI-2_XML!Alpha_exh_smoke2, gauge=LI-2_XML!Li2Temp120 and gauge=LI-2_XML!Li2Temp120_2
D: remove from [Window01] gauge number 02 and 03 (LI-2_XML!TUE-48_oil_Eng1/2)
E: remove from [Vcockpit03] (file=$Li2Panel03.bmp) the gauge numbers 09 and 10 (LI-2_XML!TCT-9Eng1/2)
F: save the document
G: go to create a flight, load the Li-2, click fly now and when the flight starts and the plane appears, go into the 2D-cockpit, click on the overhead-panel icon and set the starter switch to “on” and the magneto switches on “both”.
Then use Ctrl+E and the engines should start.
For the download 74072-73603-Li-2v1.5 you have 2 panel-cfg’s
Versie V5:
[Window00] remove numbers 18, 20, 34 and 35
[Window09] remove numbers 02 and 03
[Vcocpit03] remove the numbers 09 and 10
Save the panel-cfg
Versie V5And:
Do the same as in V5
But if you want to keep the numbers, you can also skip the gauges by putting // at the start of the line: //gauge##=
In MY v5-planes the starter switch was already “on”, I only had to set the ignition-switches to “both”.
Many thanks to Michael Vader for all his efforts to make us happy with this this bird and to Huub Vink for his textures and beta-testing, and ofcourse to the original designer(s).
Happy flying and safe landings,
hertzie.
