Was interested for a moment, thinking it was a HueyCobra with another name...but wall to wall MFDs mean no sale.

It's their riff on the AH-1Z Viper, the latest version of the HueyCobra/SuperCobra.

From an AH-1Z video on the Interwebs, the MFDs are realistic and are not the reason not to buy this:



Striker:

The cockpit of the AH-1Z has been designed so that both crewmembers have virtually identical controls; it can be readily flown from either the front or rear positions. These positions incorporate a Hands on Collective and Stick (HOCAS) side-stick architecture, which enables many functions to be carried out by the pilot without moving his or her hands from the flight controls.[9] Both of the two crew stations are provided with a pair of 8×6-inch multifunction liquid crystal displays (LCD) and a single 4.2×4.2-inch dual function LCD.

Because it's Kwikflight, the actual reason you might want to buy it is that it'll be geared more towards immersive fun than 100% realism. Which is actually a big plus for me, because I can't fly helicopters worth $#|^. Plus the weapons stuff looks cool.

I would go for an original Hueycobra but I've got their Apache, flown it once that's enough.

If any of you Chopperlovers didn't see it yet (hard to understand, might be one of the best helicopter movies, dunno, maybe apart from Blue Thunder ( Catch you later....) ?? ) here's your chance and for free too :

The story is a bit thin but the helicopter scenes are great. Larry Hagman is a badass Vietnam chopper pilot and now runs a helicopter service in Mexico. He flies a Hughes 369HS. Susan Anspach is the ex-girlfriend who's being chased by mobsters re a blackbook of some sort. Badass Larry coming to safe her. The helicopter chase sequences can be watched over and over again. The mobsters fly various Alouettes.

I never liked helicopter flying in FS. I still feel FS is not made for flying rotercraft. I do like them as flying machines and the shape of 'em. Particularly vintage ones like Sikorsky S-58, Piasecki H-21, Bell-47.

Gotcha! Yeah, I was just saying this wasn't the makers doing something inaccurate to simplify making the model, they're just doing the most state-of-the-art Cobra version.

I'm a fan of steam gauges on proper winged aircraft, but on eggbeaters I'll take any electronic assists I can get!

Wow. Thanks for this! I’d never heard of the movie. Just watched it this morning while chilling trying to rest a cold away.

Definitely a film for any aviation fan! Not only is the movie basically a 90-minute helicopter chase, but there’s also some cool footage in an old Tucson airplane boneyard (alas, I read most of the amazing planss you see were melted down) and a dogfight between helicopters and a trio of Super Stearmans. The script is beyond basic, the sequences unbelievable, but it’s fun start to finish.

Sadly, three people perished when one of the helicopters being used to film the stunts hit power lines. The aerial sequences were mostly filmed in Mexico, and the lack of safety standards that resulted in this crash, as well as the Twilight Zone movie helicopter incident the same year, resulted in major changes in safety regulations for aerial stunts in films.
