Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated Tom Clayton has offered to post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

surclaro may yet prove an invaluable resource

having realized that https://www.surclaro.com/en has availed to the public the index of its entire searchable historical download library https://www.surclaro.com/en/downloads one may consider utilizing the search engine therein as a resource to potentially track down indexes of add-ons unavailable elsewhere - avsim, simviation, here @ SOH, fs2000, flyawaysimulation, and with the assistance of the archived SUNET file archive hosted and preserved by the Academic Computer Club at Umeå University, Sweden, https://ftp.sunet.se/mirror/archive/ftp.sunet.se/pub/pc/games/flight-sim/ download as necessary

tutorial (note that naturally the following may not always work, as the relevant files may simply not exist in the SUNET file archive):

by way of example, consider of late the interest here in airships, and Kevin Bryan in the past having released numerous as part of his unreal aviation series, a search then at surclaro for Kevin Bryan's releases reveals: https://www.surclaro.com/en/downloads?q=kevin+bryan
--> consider next that the FS2002/Flightsim FS2004/FS9 Unreal Aviation Talent AS-4 Sentinel is unavailable elsewhere, and accordingly, SUNET file archive appears to be the only potential option
--> subsequently, two file indices have to be noted: the date stamp which appears on the search page https://www.surclaro.com/en/downloads?q=kevin+bryan above the file title, and which is namely 2005-10-18 and the second is the file name which one may retrieve by clicking on the view record link https://www.surclaro.com/en/downloa...s9-unreal-aviation-talent-as-4-sentinel-14047 , and which is uaas4.zip (under File)
--> the next step is to go to the SUNET file archive and taking note of the aforesaid date stamp, first clicking on uploads05 https://ftp.sunet.se/mirror/archive/ftp.sunet.se/pub/pc/games/flight-sim/uploads05/ then heading to the month of October https://ftp.sunet.se/mirror/archive/ftp.sunet.se/pub/pc/games/flight-sim/uploads05/oct/ and scrolling down (as the files are listed alphabetically) until one reaches the requisite file name uaas4.zip https://ftp.sunet.se/mirror/archive/ftp.sunet.se/pub/pc/games/flight-sim/uploads05/oct/uaas4.zip and thereafter download!

That ought to be all folks! Happy file hunting!
