T-28D Trojan released. payware

Just bought this wonderful aircraft and love it, but I seem to be having a problem with the Landing gear constantly cycling between Up and Down?
When on the ground the gear stays extended but the lever switches every few seconds up and down while you are in the VC.

that is not typical - maybe a controller/input issue? try resetting your control devices to default - or check specifically your LG configuration in both FSX and on your control input device...

just installed the demo and the default rudder in the solo is minus (-) 2.0.
That's interesting as I have the demo and the rudder trim digital readout in the tooltip stays at 0° no matter what rudder trim angle is selected. Bob.

Thanks Bob.

I just recalibrated and rechecked, it still shows minus 2.00 in-game for me. No big deal.

Thanks for that tip heywooood, I think you are on the right track with that.
I will try it later today.

regards

Bruce.

ps. It worked thank you , the landing gear was mapped to two controllers.

I'd like to do that. I have the VnW project installed. What time/day/airport do you use to link up with the AI T-28's? Bear with me as I am not very AI enabled but I do have all the VnW traffic bgl's installed to my World Scenery folder. Obie

Obie311, I was finally able to take a look at the flight plan for Long Tieng (L20A). There are two assigned T-28s there. They only fly once a day. One takes off at 0400 Zula (10:00 A.M., local) and returns about 15 minutes later. The other takes off at 0500 Zula (11:00 A.M., local) and returns about 15 minutes later. I just confirmed that on my computer that has FSX installed. I didn't get any good screen shots....

Hope this helps you do a little formation flying around the skies of Laos.

You,re Welcome Sir -

(my score is now TWO times in 28 years...take that, wife)

Thank you Anthony. Your T-28D is a great one and your customer service is absolutely stellar.

:salute:

[QUOTEI downloaded AIFP and installed it but I keep getting the "Unhandled exception" error message. I went into Options and tried to set up all the paths it asked for. Anyone know what's up with this?

][/QUOTE]

Not sure what is happening here. A couple of things perhaps to try. Run the program as admin, and do not install this in the [program files] folders. I have mine installed on another drive without problems.

Thanks for the advice I have installed to my SSD and it looks OK. I am running XP and I have had no admin permission problems with any other programs. Any other ideas?

Very well done aircraft. I wish there was an armed version with modeled Yankee seats and speed brake...
Anyway, there is a small gap into the VC model, visible when front canopy opens, on port side, at the windshield-fuselage joining.
Thanks

As most have commented its a great plane. The flight model imo feels a little to lively.I doubt this big ol plane is so light on the controls but it sure is fun.I can easily throw it into a almost 90 degree crab.
Last night I was about 3 thousand agl maybe 1/2 mile from the runways. Dirtied the t-28 up and threw in full rudder/opposite aileron and slipped the snot out of it. airspeed was just above stall and it dropped like a rock.Let the controls go and it swung around right into a greaser of a landing on the numbers with less than a 300 ft rollout.
Maybe, maybe not realistic but it sure was fun and a joy to fly:jump:

Great job and thats coming from a guy thats owned almost every fs9/fsx payware known to man!

Hmm, first enthusiasm is gone!! The model, animation, sound, vc is absolutely superb. Quit flying now because of FDE. Keep loosing control because of stall warnings, actually stalls, without critical speed, aoa or what so ever. Too much deflection of the elevator makes the airplane unflyable. Sorry, but for a loop you need to pull. Followed handbook...240kts,only 15% fuel o/b. pulling too gentle, causes too much loss of speed, pullin hard will stall the airplane with almost no gain in altitude. Is it something in the airfile of cfg which can be changed easily. Any ideas? Check my entire hangar, no such stall behaviour with other products.

I no longer spend hours tweeking cfg files but I did reduce the elevator effectiveness to .7 from 1.Also alot of FSX aircraft behave badly when loaded lightly so try that and bump your fuel load to at least 50%.
I am sure some of the hardcore guys here will help out.

I did reduce elevator eff. as well, but the problem is somewhere else. I agree, i quit tweaking also. I was so confident that i did not try the demo first, but recommend it to all who are interested.
I would uninstall, but i like big radials and this add-on is special. Hope its addressed and an "alternate" FDE might become available.

Personally, I changed roll damping from .4 to .55 in the airfile - so it doesn't overshoot a moderate roll input so much. That makes the overall handling much nicer, and seemingly realistic for me. Slow rolls are fine, but once you get to a moderately fast roll, there's seems to be too much overshoot, and a little too much counter aileron required to stop roll.

I think a little more stability there is in character with other NA designs like the Mustang, AT-6, and other similarly configured aircraft, and it's training 'mission' IMO.

I'll probably change the pitch sensitivity also, but that's pretty much just preference in my case. More of a concern is approaching an accelerated stall, which you will experience a lot if you like to aggressive aero, where it seems like one wing stalls much too aggressively, the airplane retains forward energy, resulting in a forward roll like a wing has broken off. I don't have any suggestions how to fix that one. The airplane does spin very nicely however.

Those are very specific and relatively minor quibbles on the FDE, and I think the rest of it overall is excellent, has great feel and realism, and is a lot of fun to fly. It really is one of the nicest FSX airplanes out there now, with first class 3d model, textures, sounds, mechanical bits. A very well balanced project certainly worth the price, with just some minor issues to patch.

Hello Obie. I read thru the manual that came with AIFP. One thing it states is that NET Framework 3.5 must be installed for this to work. Please check and see if you have this installed.

I was able to do a proper loop with no problem, using moderate back pressure on the stick, (proper) and full throttle with prop at 2250 rpm. I then tried a hard pull, and she snapped, also correct. Pointing the nose down, opposite rudder and off the elevator, she stopped the spin and recovered, all exactly as she should.Required about 4500 feet to recover, again about correct. Excessive use of rudder will really snap a roll, and will cause big problems if low and slow. Aileron rolls, barrel rolls, loops, were well done, when flown fast and open, as a warbird should be. Well, as fast as a T-28 will go.:icon_lol:

I had one problem with the radios. Somehow, right after take-off, while on climbout, ATC weather, for a different airport than I was using, KSEE, Gillespie in San Diego, Ca. came on, and I could not turn it off. I had to turn ALL the radios off manually, never did find out for sure which one actually turned it off. I could then turn on the sim's ATC and use it, even though the aircraft's radios were off.

Other than that, I really enjoyed my short flight around San Diego with it. Excellent job, Anthony. Thank you.
Don
