T-34B Carenado

Yes, me too. I have about 7.5 hours in one. The flight club at one of the bases had one. I took it up to do acrobatics. Someone (probably a rule follower) complained that the airplane wasn't certified for acro. So they told us we could only rent the airplane if no acro was involved. WTH, why rent an acrobatic airplane if you can't go up and bend it a little. So, I quit flying the bird. It was fun when it lasted, however.

Wow. Finally!

I bought it way back and kept dragging it from one MSFS version to the next until it finally wouldn't work anymore. One of my favorite Carenados.

Yea! I loved this plane in FSX. I hope that they release it on their site as well as in the marketplace so that re-painters can have at it sooner.

I got to fly with Julie Clark in her T-34 back in the VIP days. We produced her aircraft for FS98, and added a lot of video from my flight with her onto the CD. A buddy of mine was in another T-34 as we flew formation, both of us filming. Great memories. Looking forward to this one... I hope for both platforms.

Flew laser combat with Skywarriors outside Atlanta in the late 90's in a T-34B. Such a cool experience. So I'm super-excited this is finally coming. Their P3D version was great.

TL; didn't watch: Sims can teach you formation flying, but not how to avoid wanting to puke.

I flew the T-34B at Saufley in the summer of 1965 prior to moving on to the T-2A at Meridian. The Carenado version in P3D4 is a very good model that is very accurate.

I also flew the civil version in various flying clubs. The civil T-34B STC bungied up the control system and limited its acrobatic potential because its rate of roll and pitch were thus physically limited. Trying to do a loop or half Cuban 8 in this situation is dangerous because it would be easy to get nose low at high speed without adequate pitch authority to recover before a serious overspeed and altitude loss occurred.

I do like the original T-34A/B but would really like to see a T-34C. They have so many fantastic colour schemes - especially those used down at El Centro for the SFWPAC bomb spotting ! I was lucky enough to fly in one of those aircraft when I had an urgent need of a camera ship to shoot some TA-4J's on Det at El Centro. 3A9A0954.jpg
