I am worried about that virus found in the update.
How sure are you that this is a false positive?
Also maybe the computer that created the exe could have been infected and is causing it to replicate.
See the reason this could be a problem is with PMDG being attacked when they started sales on the NGX, that maybe your system or somewhere there is a compromise down the line.
What information do you have to say that this is a false positive? I am sorry, but I just want to make sure my PC is protected, I sensitive banking information on my computer. I just want to be safe and not sorry.

There is, once again, NO VIRUS in the file. This is a false positive. I guarantee it. Personally. If you get a virus from our product, I will fly to where you (in real life) and do the reinstall MYSELF. And you can whack me silly.

Please provide me some information concluding this. You flying and reinstalling is great but for my information to be in the hands of others can not be fix.

For whatever reason it would seem that the Milviz installers cause this to pop up. When I got the Cessna 310 I had those warnings. I did as suggested, and it installed fine, with no issues since.

For what it's worth, I have Norton 360 and had the same thing pop up. Knowing the way FSX installers and packages work, I had no doubt it was a false positive. I got Norton Tech support on the phone twice over a couple days. I showed them the package and where I got it, both the T-38 and the 310. He watched me go through the install process and I think I had him understanding it was harmless. I also made the point that Norton was losing customers over the issue, including me if it happens again.

But to hear "And you can whack me silly." kind of showed me that I was being disrespected toward a serious situation and given an unprofessional response, makes me "not" want to even deal with this plane or company in the future.

Robert, It is your choice whether to purchase the T-38 or not. However, I can assure you that Colin was not being disrespectful. He was trying to add a little levity to allay your concerns.
That being said, if you choose to not purchase the T-38, isn't that a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face? You keep asking for "proof". Several members came back and agreed with Milviz that is was a false positive. Still you weren't satisfied. How much proof do you need?
I complained about the false positives during the beta testing. I have been told the issue is either Flight One's wrapper or all of the anti-virus packages. I guess it depends who you work for as to whom you will believe. Personally, because of this I think the flight one wrapper sucks. Others disagree.
I have several copies of the F-15 beta on two computers. They all give me false positives. I make exceptions and then a new updated beta appears in the drop box. Once again, I get false positives. The same thing happened with the T-38 during the final testing.
So don't buy the airplane, if you feel slighted and misunderstood. It is your loss. You will be missing out on one of the best flying models ever made for FSX. I can say that with some certainty. I flew the real T-38. This one is as close as FSX would allow.

However, that said, we get a lot of comments about the false positive(s). I will, again, guarantee the "safety" of the installer.
There isn't much else that I can do. If you decide not to purchase it, that is, I believe, too bad as we put a vast amount of time and effort into making this the best T-38A we could.
I wish that I could say that the next releases we do will have no false positives but, sadly, this isn't the case. We must absolutely protect our investment from those who consider hacker/torrent points more important than our (devs) continued existence.
I am sorry about these but without protection we're sunk.
If you read our forums, there are many people who have had the same issue as you. Not a single one has actually gotten a virus. Not one. Yet they all had the same report.
So, after this, the only thing I can suggest to you is that you pay more and get it from the likes of the 3rd party add-on vendors. We used a different security system that doesn't do false positives. However, we do not provide a 30 day money-back guarantee on those purchases...

Bob, you are asking for a logical impossibility. It is simply not possible to "prove a negative."
On the other hand, I am the one who compiled the model, created the installer package, and wrapped it with the Flight1 tools. I've been doing this for over twelve years now.
Not once have I ever had a virus on my network. Not once.
After I've completed my work and forwarded the package to Colin for distribution, it is simply not possible for anything to then "infect" the executables so wrapped.
There is a FAQ at Flight1's support site that baldly states that such reports are, without exception, "false positives." Flight1 has been in contact the all of the various companies who's programs generate these false reports. None of them seem the least bit interested in updating their database definitions to fix the problem.

If you have important finanicial information on a computer connected to the internet, your browser is the most dangerous piece of software you can install. You really should not be using that computer for anything other than finances and it should be firewalled off from the internet.

Not worried at all. The quality of the product speaks for itself. No one who has purchased it and has had the false positive that you've had has a virus. No one. Not a single person. That you do not trust these statements makes it difficult if not impossible to assist you.
I will say, again, that you can purchase it from Simmarket. Yes, it costs more and there is no money back guarantee but the installer has NO false positives as it uses a different security system.

No one at MilViz (You've already heard from Colin the owner) is going to try to tell you what to do with your money. But, Flight 1 software has been in business for decades and is very well known and respected across the entire online community.
As others have said, the virus alert is a well known, and well documented false positive. Flight 1 even makes this statement on their own sales website. If Flight 1 was going around putting true trojan horse viruses on peoples' computers, do you really think they would not have already been sued in civil court and put out of business by now?
Again, you have every right to do what you decide with your own money. But, if you are interested in our aircraft, and would like to purchase them, then not only has the MilViz owner given you his personal guarantee, but I am offering you my guarantee that MilViz does not put viruses on our customers' computers! If that is not enough, people here who don't work for MilViz have given you their personal assurances simply to be helpful in letting you make an informed choice. We have sold hundreds of aircraft and no one has filed suit against us, so that is another independent verification of our honesty.
For proof yourself can run, after you install the aircraft, run an immediate virus check of your computer and see if any other virus alerts are provided (other than the Flight 1 installer which again we certify is a false positive). You will not see any such alerts.
I have installed these aircraft using the same Flight 1 wrapper, get the same false positives, and I am just as diligient about using AV's to avoid viruses on my computer as anyone. Money is not going to corrupt me. If MilViz did anything that dishonest, I would be first in lline to blow the whistle on them and never associate myself with them again. In fact, I have found MilViz one of the most ethical and honest group of people I have worked with.
