Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

I tried posting at the dedicated Tacpack thread, but I suspect that doesn't get much attention these days. So ......

I've finally got Tacpack working & I'm installing mods for same. I've put Jagl04's mods for the Cerasim helicopters in place and I'd love to do the same for the Aerosoft Seahawk, but the link at the Aerosoft forum is dead (not surprising, as I am very late to this party), was it saved anywhere else.

I know a lot of other mods have vanished into the ether, especially with Flightsim doing a decent impression of a blackhole. I know there used to be some goodies at the IS4G site, were they saved anywhere else?

not to forget about Dino Cattaneo's / IndiaFoxtEcho Visual Simulations' TacPack releases - FSX/P3D freeware (ex-payware), as of JAN 2022:

Having bought the full set of Razbam A-7s a while back, I think I'll pass on giving them more of my folding. 😄

Thanks Wolfebee, you are being really helpful.

 Glad to be of assistance Andy! So why not consider asking Razbam for a promo-code/discount given that you have already purchased the entire set and only require the TacPack ed. to complete your coll. ; they may well oblige - possibly? ...if only to retain your future patronage

I've got all of those, gems in their own right, letting loose a Firestreak or Red Top is an experience i am yet to have though

And, yes, the Iris Warthog is a TP bird. I'm particularly looking forward to exploring the options with the A-10, a veritable smorgasbord.

additionally, at simviation:

and at Blackbird Simulations, formerly Milviz, quite a few TacPack releases

Thank you, giving me lots of options. Do you know if Jagl04's Aerosoft Seahawk mods are available anywhere else?

if there is no response here, which appears to be the case, perhaps consider posting the request at the Aerosoft forums, starting a new thread on the subject, all the while linking it back to the old one - may perhaps still yield a positive response - I believe the files were exclusive to the Aerosoft forums where distribution was concerned, so honouring that exclusivity would indeed mean posting said request there...

nigh forgot about this: Ant's Airplanes Trojan T-28 https://www.antsairplanes.com/trojan.html
verbatim from the site: T-28A "is available as a free, unrestricted demo"
---> under system requirements: "The Trojan is a considerably detailed aircraft and therefore places a large load on your computer. I can only recommend that you download the T28A version to test the performance of the T-28 on your [system]. The T-28A includes the Solo and Attack versions only but it will give a very good indication of how well the T-28B/C and T-28D versions will work on your system."
--->
under features: "ATTACK model is the same as the SOLO model but with 6 weapons stations, armament panel and gun sight"
--->
under differences between T-28A, T-28D and T-28B/C: "B/C and D have 6 weapon stations vs 2 in the A model"

per https://www.justflight.com/product/ants-airplanes-trojan-t28d and https://www.justflight.com/product/ants-airplanes-trojan-t28-b-c "VRS TacPack compatibility for the Attack model" --> presuming then that the T-28A Attack version included in the demo/donationware is likewise TacPack compatible

and there is always also FSX@war - the "unofficial companion to VRS TacPack" https://sim-outhouse.org/sohforums/threads/fsx-war.108771/

uncertain if the link to downloads circa 2019 posted at avsim by Andreas Furger are still active but regardless worth a look, if of interest (requires registration at VRS Support Forums) https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/552612-fsxwar-for-p3dv4-cannot-download-from-website/

Oh, I forgot to mention how it got fixed, just in case anybody else is struggling.

"Windows 11 changed side-by-side assembly directories in WinSxS to a folder called "Fusion". Exactly why this was done I have no clue, apparently it was in a Windows 10 insider build at first and Windows 11 now defaults to it. This resulted in add-ons that relied on the SimConnect assembly to break on Windows 11.

To fix this, you either downgrade to Windows 10, or you create a new directory in C:\Windows\WinSxS.

Create 3 folders in the WinSxS folder named:
x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.0_none_dd92b94d8a196297
x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.61242.0_none_e079b46b85043c20
x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.61259.0_none_55f5ecdc14f60568

In each of these folders, paste in the proper SimConnect DLL for that folder's version. To find the DLLs, install Simconnect in Windows 11, and navigate to C:\Windows\WinSxS\Fusion\
Assuming you installed RTM, SP1, and XPACK's SimConnect modules, their folder names are:
x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_1ed9da73c880e429_none_8ce66f88f772b8a0
x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_none_7a98ffdea9fe1e16
x86_microsoft.flightsimulator.simconnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_none_48d5d2360f51e4d0

Inside these folders are folders with version numbers. Go inside of them and you will find a SimConnect.DLL. Copy and paste the DLLs to those 3 folders you created in WinSxS. Make sure you do not paste in DLLs from SP1 into SP2/Acceleration's folder or vice versa. You do not need to copy the .cat or .manifest or .metadata files and folders, though it doesn't hurt to do them.

I should note that every time Windows 11 seems to update, those folders disappear, and you will have to create them again from time to time. Also note that you probably don't have permissions to create or edit folders in the WinSxS directory by default, so you will have to take ownership of the folder first (at least, I had to do that)."
