Tail down in deck

Okay, one more issue.
My Wildcat's tail is in the deck on take off. How do I raise the wheel to sit on the deck instead of in the deck?

I may have to go back to the Med pretty quick and finish up Tuskegee missions.
This Pacific theater is getting too difficult to just have a fun break from the MED.

Hi Develdog,

Open the Aircraft.cfg file. This is from the OH F4F3.
In this case the number in red effects the tail wheel contact point position.

[contact_points]
//0 Class
//1 Longitudinal Position (feet)
//2 Lateral Position (feet)
//3 Vertical Position (feet)
//4 Impact Damage Threshold (Feet Per Minute)
//5 Brake Map (0=None, 1=Left, 2=Right)
//6 Wheel Radius (feet)
//7 Steer Angle (degrees)
//8 Static Compression (feet) (0 if rigid)
//9 Max/Static Compression Ratio
//10 Damping Ratio (0=Undamped, 1=Critically Damped)
//11 Extension Time (seconds)
//12 Retraction Time (seconds)
//13 Sound Type
//14 Airspeed limit for retraction (KIAS)
//15 Airspeed that gear gets damage at (KIAS)

It helps B24, but which way and how much do I change it? I don't want to have it hanging in air or deeper into the deck.

First try going to -2.35 then to -1.35, if this is going the wrong way go to -4.35 etc.... keep checking till you've got it...don

The other thing it could be is the Platform Alt. of the CV you are on.

Check the Ship.cfg. file.

Usually set the gear to squished mains and hard tailwheel on a stock, hard surface runway, ...like Midway.

Then, ...adjust the CV ship.cfg/Platform "Y" to match.

OOPs!:censored:

I changed it from -3.35 to -3.00, then to -2.95. It is better but not there yet. I will go back in and change the .95 back to .35 and lower the -3 to -2............:redf:

One more question: My stock F6F and P-38 both have great skin on the port (left) side, but the starboard (the other left) is plane drab blue on F6F and drab olive on the P-38. Both have insignia and stuff on the left, just paint on the right. I have changed our skins and gotten add-on skins to work on the Hellcat, but not the Lightening. Thoughts?:isadizzy:

Hi Devildog73,

All of the "Stock Overhauled Aircraft" Need four sets of "Main texture or skin" files to work right.

These files are....
"texture_t" Orginal Texture for entire AC. Now new left side.
"texture_d" Orginal Damage Texture for entire AC. Now new left side
"texture_r" New Texture for right side of AC
"texture_b" New Damage Texture for right side of AC

You can create the "new right side textures" by making copys of the orginal textures and renameing them. You will then need to fix the numbers and letters because they will be reversed.

Hope this helps,
B24Guy
